<<<<---------Who wants Ruthie the Wondermutt? Henk is providing a home, but no pets allowed. We'll probably just release the birds. But Ruthie's special. Mike put his 3-week in this morning. ;D ;D Plan on leaving here around Aug 12. I've been informed that I'm going to be showing with Henk's wife & girls at the Minnesota State Fair during Memorial Day week. And best of all for me.....Henk is a HUGE VIKINGS fan. He is glad to have someone to watch games with since his wife and girls are devoted moldy cheese heads. ;D Henk didn't turn out to bad for a Holland born boy that spent 5 years cooped up in a shack at Marietta while working with the US Forest Service!

HOORAY!!!
Congratulations guys! I hope it's a comfortable move and all works out well. I can't help with Ruthie The Wonder Mut, but hopefully that'll work out well for you also.
Hmmm...teenage holland girls...keep a close eyes on them boys, they's liable to get taught some of that freaky chit!

That sounds just fantastic! ;D Faith is Ruthie an indoor dog or an outdoor dog? I was trying to think who might be close to you and needs a beagle. What comes up is Frank Steed and family be most likely or possible one of the family up there. If you can not find a home for her let me know and I'll look around at our foster resources. I also have relatives in Marion that I can check with. Keep us posted and give us details! Oh, by the way, we'll be expecting to see you sign back on from WI and maybe pick up a new member or two in the process.

Congrats MIss Faith and Mike. I'm glad y'all were making something productive of the time I spent lounging.... ;D The only problem I see hun is the no pets rule. I mean, that would mean that Me,Toby and Paws couldn't just crawl on up out of the swamp and say hi and as far as Matt coming, I can only pass him as human ABOUT 50% of the time. Now what river is that that runs up there? ?

Oh, by the way, we'll be expecting to see you sign back on from WI and maybe pick up a new member or two in the process. Ruthie's a 1 1/2 yr old indoor/outdoor dog. She loves to lounge around the house just as much as she loves to go out and kill groundhogs or chase Canada geese! She will also tree coon and it wouldn't take much for her to become a decent cattle or sheep dog. She'll make sure the cows don't duck away when we're herding now, but won't go out to bring them in yet. All of this she does instinctivly - we've never taken the time to work with her. Her ma is a full blood beagle. Pa is a little red dog that roams the ridge. He appears to be a Welsh Corgi mix (smaller than a beagle but bigger than a standard daschund, long body, shorter legs, blockier hind end, and medium fur). Her personality is playful yet quiet, but not at all timid. Only time we've ever seen her growl at someone was when we had a substitute UPS driver. She's had all her shots and is spayed & housebroke (other than the dirty sock & underwear thing). I'll just need to call the vet to see when she's due up for her next rabies, as she lost her tag while out groundhogging a couple weeks ago. I emailed United and he is also looking for a home for her. Y'know Ruthie LOVES Dave's lap! Thought we were gonna have a Saturday night wedding at GT! ;D

If "Rabbit" (the other guy Mike will be working with) passes for human, I'm sure Henk wouldn't have no problems with y'all!! ;D I'm just wondering what he's gonna think of Mike this winter when he has a full beard and lumberjack look going. Which river? The Mississippi, St. Croix, or Trempealeau? All of them are within 45 minutes. St.Croix River is just down the road a couple of miles. Toby, we'll be just under an hour from Rice Lake and about 5 minutes from Willow River state park. Now that I've been up there and seen the maps, I'm with Kirby. Rice Lake near Sheboygan??? What kind of second hand Milwaukee brew were you fellows drinking? Oh, and uh, my dad's even warned me to lock the boys away from those Wisconsin gals!! Says they're mighty kinky. Wonder if he has 1st hand knowledge?

Rice lakes closer to sheboygan than it is Inverness, Fl.! I hunted farms in both places and it didn't seem that far between them.
And, it was gin and grapefruit juice! I had to bring the grapefruit juice with me. My first visit to Rice Lake I wandered into a little country bar and they didn't have it and nobody had ever asked for it. They were all sitting around talking about the "Packers" and waiting for the ice to thicken up so they could start ice fishing.
Talk about being out of my element!

We'll have one of those little country bars just down the road a bit. You'd like it! All set up with three nets for beach volleyball. Didn't see anyone playing while we were there. They must be waiting for December for the bikini girls to arrive! ;D By the way...what's the deal with the "in/out" or just "in" liquor sales up there? What is it? We don't have that here. And why in the world can't you buy beer at Wal-mart up there?

I had forgotten about her and Dave. You know he ought to have dibs on her Faith. I hate to see you guys lose her but getting her a good home is priority if you must lose her.

Faith, watch out for the ON/OFF sales, especially in Minni-Soda land!! The sale is ON until you open the front door, then the sale is OFF! ;D ;)Just like those sad sacks in the Purple gowns! The Minni-Soda Vi-Queen chockers!!! ;D ::)Just giving you a tuff time, Faith, as you will get a lot of ribbing if you wear purple in Wisconsin!! GO PACK GO!!!!! ;D

Kirby, Henk told me it's bad enough that I've done hocked all of our cattle showing equipment. If I get rid of the Vikings gear, I'm in real dutch with him!! Sent 6 truck loads of stuff to the auction house last month. Thought we had really thinned stuff out. Have been boxing and sorting stuff all this week. Where did all this chit come from? Garbage hauler is just gonna love us Thursday! 24 bags to set out so far. Burned about half of it. Will be lots more at the curb by the time we load the U-haul on the 14th. We are going to keep all of the outdoor Christmas decorations. It's been 6 years since I've been allowed to put them up! (Don't ask me why I haven't thrown them away already.) Stupid local communal thing here in this section of Barnesville. Only decorating I've been allowed to do is a nativity display on the fireplace mantle. Even the Christmas tree had to be set up where it couldn't be seen from the windows. HUM-BUG!

Ruthie found a home, for now, in Coolville (down Paws way). They know some truckers and one of them might like a 4-legged friend for the long hauls. That's one less thing on our minds now.

That's a really good idea. She would make a great pal for a trucker with her personality. ;D Good thinkin' Faith!

Everything's packed or thrown away. Our living room/kitchen has been the front porch for the past few days. Bathroom is around the corner behind the house. Could have pulled out yesterday, but we had a few loose ends to take care of this weekend. Will pick the thruck up in the morning on the way to the Gallaher reunion. If we aren't too loopy when we get home, we'll load tomorrow night. (Dat ain't gonna get done!) Otherwise we load up Sunday morning and pull out around 0630 Monday morning. Sounds like we'll have close to 30 folks here to "help" load (or just nibshit). We should arrive in New Richmond by 1500 Tuesday. It's going to take longer getting there this time since we'll have 2 vehicles and each of us have to drive the whole distance. It'll probably be a while until I get the computer set up. I did find out that I'll have to change my ISP account. So's I'll have to shop around for one after I get my bearings. Until I get back on here from Wisconsin, y'all take care and keep each other in line!!!!! ;D ;D
