Well it looks like I took a turn for the worse. The right leg is swollen about double size and the glucose level is at 183 this morning. I managed to do 1.4 miles at a pace of between 112 and 154 steps per minute. If this leg gets any worse I'll be going over to the ER. I'll keep you posted maybe.

I think I had a doc call that leg condition "Moses Syndrome" or something like that. Also can be caused by a bloodclot in the knee.
Get yourself to a DOC!

Nope. It is better. Really sore all around the knee and is trying to fold in the wrong direction. I've pulled something or the other. A blessing of my loose or "double" joints I suppose. The swelling has gone down. No numbness or discoloration. No biggie I guess. Got me to thinking though. What the hell do I do if I need to go to the hospital? No can do.

Uh oh! That's one of the things mine was doing. It won't heal on it's own. You've torn your AC ligament. Get to a doctor before you end up tearing things up worse.

Information about anterior cruciate ligament injuries What is an ACL injury? One of the most common problems involving the knee joint is an anterior cruciate ligament tear. The anterior cruciate ligament (also called the ACL) is one of four ligaments that are critical to the stability of the knee joint. A ligament is made of tough fibrous material and functions to control excessive motion by limiting joint mobility. Of the four major ligaments of the knee, the ACL injury is the most common knee ligament injury. What is the normal function of the ACL? The anterior cruciate ligament is the primary restraint to forward motion of the shin bone (tibia). The anatomy of the knee joint is critical to understanding this relationship. Essentially, the femur (thigh bone) sits on top of the tibia (shin bone), and the knee joint allows movement at the junction of these bones. Without ligaments to stabilize the knee, the joint would be unstable and prone to dislocation. The ACL prevents the tibia from sliding too far forward. The ACL also contributes stability to other movements at the joint including the angulation and rotation at the knee joint. The ACL performs these functions by attaching to the femur on one end, and to the tibia on the other. The other major ligaments of the knee are the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and the medial and lateral collateral ligaments (MCL and LCL, respectively). What happens when there is an ACL injury? When an ACL injury occurs, the knee becomes less stable. The ACL injury is a problem because this instability can make sudden, pivoting movements difficult, and it may make the knee more prone to developing arthritis and cartilage tears. Why are ACL tears such a big problem? When the knee is unstable, patients often complain of a sensation that the knee will 'give out' from under them. When this giving way sensation is because of an ACL injury, the knee joint is sliding too much. This can be a problem because each episode of instability (the 'giving way' sensation) can cause damage to the knee cartilage. Therefore an ACL injury makes patients more prone to developing arthritis and meniscus tears. Athletes often have particular difficulty once they have sustained an ACL injury. Many sports require a functioning ACL to perform common maneuvers such as cutting, pivoting, and sudden turns. These high demand sports sports include, but are not limited to: Football Soccer Basketball Skiing Gymnastics Hockey (Ice and Field) Wrestling Lacrosse Rugby orthopedics.about.com/cs/aclrepain/a/acl.htm

Knee and leg are coming around OK. Patella was actually out of place for a while. Back in now OK. Bad news today is that my glucose measured out at 270 this morning. I hope it is due to stress and weight loss. By the way I wore a pair of 42s yesterday and didn't realize it until changing back to my work clothes last evening. Weight is at 228 this morning for a net loss of 20 pounds in about 8 weeks. Getting under that 230 mark was a bitch!

How's about you two guys swappin' britches for a while?? ;D If you keep loosing weight, maybe Rob will let you borrow his 40's, since he's now into 38's. That leg stuff ain't nothing to fool around with. Hope you're doing better. If you need anything, give us a shout. Only takes a sec to get over there.

30's?? In what unit of measurement?? Seriously, Lana and Martin are almost that big. Would you believe that when Mike and I were dating 20 years ago we both wore 38's? (OK. So I had to use the vise-grips to zip mine. And when I wore his, I had to roll the cuffs 10 inches.)

Yep! Well I went in for my periodic ass chewin' and lo and behold got myself a C+! Not great but doc says not many actually get better without more medication and I'm one of the few. A1C is 7.2; needs to be below 6. Triglycerides and cholesterol are in great shape and I actually weigh four pounds less than my last official weigh in last October! I' losing about 2 pounds a week now so should be hitting 40's next month! You know SE, when I was in them 30x30s I still had a 46 inch chest.
