A couple of weeks ago I believe I blew the head Gasket on my car....MY son was graciouse enough to lend me one of his.....Now he wants the car back, which for me would clearly put alot of stress on my limited SSD income.... I have a Marlin NR7 in 30-06 I would like to sell ASAP .........The rifle is 100% never fired since purchase......It was purchased for a special hunting trip which would have required me making shots at a greater distance then my old favorite 30-30 can do......The trip never panned out ....I'm asking $450, which includes a couple of box's of 30-06 ammo @ 180gr, scope mounts and if wanted an older then dirt Tasco scope.......If interested or have someone that would be, my email add is lilredk61@yahoo.com ...................................Thanks.......Steve the OLKOOT-KOROT
P>S:If a buyer is from out of state , I will need help with the FFL rules and any extra fees therefore would have to be obsorbed by the buyer.......

Basically Steve you just take it to a dealer there with the address of a dealer provided by the buyer. Your dealer takes care of the forms at your end and ships for a few bucks and the task is mirrored at the other end. That model is a "A" bolt isn't it?

Steve, while I was enroute to your neck of the woods I thought I blew a head gasket on a Sunday! Found a mechanic and it turned out to be the oil sensor valve. Five minutes later and a fill up of fresh oil; back on the road.

Phil, thanks for the info, but what I spotted should indicate its a blown head gasket......Theres oil mixing with my antifreeze......I was also thinking at the time that the pcv valve was blocked creating a blow bye, or I just got too much sludge in the engine, but the antifreeze gives me a newer outlook.................
I dont know about the "A" bolt, but in checking out the Marlin web site, I learned that it has similarities to two of the most popular bolt actions in use today......I'm thinking Wheatherby and Remington.....

Hey Bro Freddie, I really dont know how much it would be until I bring it to a qualified mechanic, which I havent done so as yet,so I dont know if the engine is even salvageable ....Its completely out of oil, and as I said before , theres oil mixed in with the antifreeze......A ballpark figure from a friend who does only bodywork as a full time job, was about $800......Anyway, the reason I havent done anything is that I dont have any money to even barter with.....I'm still waiting for my income tax check, which should give me some money, but thats another story that hasnt panned out yet.....This is also why I've started to unload some of my hunting stuff.....Thanks for reading this post and offer the possibility you may be able to help in some way....

I can offer a prayer my friend. I just put a new motor in my 99 Dodge pickup for a similar trouble. Yep, there was oil in the anti freeze, the whole head gasket blew and stupid me ran it dry of oil to get it home and bent a couple of rods when it overheaded too much friction. $1,600.00 later it runs great, but it wiped out my savings.

Hey guys. Suggested retail on this was $603 with 100% at $495. If it has factory open sights add another $40. Not a bad deal if you live close enough to pick it up and avoid shipping. Think it over.
