As if my mind and body aren't on total meltdown already, Mike finally got a call with his dr. results. We knew he'd get his work release and be back on the boat by sundown. All infection and pain is gone and he's healthy as a horse.
But no... The ultrasound showed what looked like either a cyst or cancer down there. Doctor will not issue a work release until the results from more bloodwork come in. He's up at the clinic right now getting the blood drawn. It takes 10 days to get the results back. I don't know what the heck we're gonna do now. Just pray, pray, pray the bloodwork comes back negative.
TOBY, please share your secrets as to how you've managed to maintain any shred of sanity this year. I know y'all down there have been through your own hell with everything. All tips are greatly appreciated 'cause I'm just about to break out the brownies, magic 'shrooms, and cherry Kool-aid. Anything just to get my mind off everything. Seems my entire family is calling on me to keep everything in order and everyone on track. I plain and simple can't handle it no more.

I think I'm getting settled down some. Decided to do a little taste test on the elderberry squeezin's and when the neighbor stopped by, he gave me his pack of smoke 'cause he said I looked like hell. I heard Mike raiding the penny jar and when he came home, he had a can of pop for me. I melted on his shoulder and cried my heart out for a while then went for a walk out in our woods. Also have been on the phone most of the evening with granny, mom, and a couple of the church sisters. So I suppose I'm at least calmed down enough to sleep tonight.

Faith, I'll send up some smoke for you and Mike...just remember that when it seems that you can't keep your head above water, raise up your hands and there will be someone there to help pull you out....don't dwell on the what if's...gather yourself up...and charge ahead at full bore...and if something seem to be in the way ya got 3 options, go through it, around it or over it...post before last was the first and I think the only time I ever read that you said you can't do it...you can either believe that...or not, I really don't think you do...seems in the past when someone handed you lemons you made a pie and went on...remember you have more than just friends here you have family...

<insert quirky, tired looking, and agreeing smiley here>......... Thanks. Can I "invent" a fourth option?? Lots more going on than we've let on. Figure ain't nothing that 99.99% of everyone else isn't having to deal with right now. Things have been snowballing here since last winter. Ain't one thing it's another. Fourth option is, accidently knock over the gas can, strike a match and walk away.
*Phil, can you get us a quirky, sideways half-grin or maybe one that sighs?? Not the first time I've needed one of them.

You sure are in my prayers, you know that!!! How to deal with it. I keep turning to the Lord and try to remind myself that for the things I cannot change, I just have to trust that He knows what He's doing. It's out of my hands, no matter how bad it hurts. Yeah, as a family, we've hit some hard times and personally I've been just crushed by a lot more than I'll share pubicly as well. I tell myself that the storm will pass and the sun'll shine again. Whether or not I believe it I don't know, but it doesn't really matter...it's not for me to affect one way or another. Prayer helps, even when we don't see immediate results and the more folks that join you in your prayers, the better the results...that, I do believe! I'm praying for you, but I know you'll come out on top. You always have... May God bless you both and bring you peace...

Thank you all and please keep the prayers going. It's gonna be a long, long week of just waiting for the PSA results. I've got a pit in my stomach after doing a little more research on some of his other symptoms that seem to go along with the ultrasound findings. Some of these things Mike says has been kinda working on him for several months and are just now getting to the point of me noticing them. Let's hope he's got the sense to tell his urologist about them, 'cause this won't show up on any diagnostic test of usual exam. Marty has started working overtime to try to help out. But it may be a month before things square away so that he can. He's already running on fumes with full-time classes. I don't think he's running on anything but pure adrenaline. I'm having him bring me a McD's application. But he said it will be Friday before his class/work schedule will let him get away from Rio. He said there's 5 ahead of me, but if I get the job and he has to, he'll drive me back and forth to work for the time being. Pray somebody calls me to work. I've kept resumes & applications and word of mouth going fresh since census ended and I'm not getting any nibbles on so much as cleaning out flower beds. In the meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out what, if any, benefits and programs are available to us to keep things floating here. This is all uncharted territory for me. Am I right in thinking that AD&D, workers comp are only good if the unemployment or disability is work related, and to get unemployment you have to get laid off or your company go belly up? Guess I'll have a few more phone calls to add to the growing list.

TALK GRIL!!! What's the scoop

TALK GRIL!!! What's the scoop LOL My baby brother used to say "Chay is a grill and my big fester" (I'm soo glad his teeth finally grew in.) GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!!! All blood work came back fine. No signs of any cancer or even cyst. Does have a hydrocele though. Got to see the real doc and not his knucklehead nurse practitioner. Doc is a Pole (yep a Pole taking care of poles!) from up in our old neck of the woods who misses euchre, polka parties, square dances and paczki as much as we do, and who could talk in terms we understood. He finally got Mike on the antibiotic he needs (the one he was on is useless for this). Told him to take it for 3 weeks and invest in a good fitting jock strap, some undershorts ('cause he's too old to go commando), lay off the caffeine and spicy stuff, sit up straight, maybe use a cussion for "under" support when sitting and watch how he does any lifting. He got his work release and can go back to the boat in a few days if he's not too tender. Doesn't need to go back to doc for 4 weeks. Thank you all SOOOOOO MUCH for all the prayers!!!!! We were both at wits end on this one and it was starting to take a real mental and physical toll on us both. P.S. Didn't know how we were going to afford the $4 prescription as between us we had 45-cents. Went to get in the truck and found a twenty laying next to the truck tire. ;D While at Kroger getting the prescription filled, I decided to pick up a couple things for this weekend's cookout. I couldn't help myself but grab two big coconuts and a 5-pound summer sausage while Mike wasn't looking and "arrange" them in the seat of the cart. We both got a real good laugh, but decided our hopes and expectations were just a little bit high for the time being.

Good news all the way around. Got up- yesterday morning and after the Pastor got done chewing my ass out for not going to church (well in real nice words on FB) then God called me a "sluggard"; ergo "lazy bastard"" there in Proverbs 6: 1-6. And you thought you had it rough. Hope your cook out turns out great. Glad to hear Mike's problem is one of insignificance that not being size. works!

Do it in a nice way, but tell your Pastor that you have a "sister" who begs to disagree with him. You've been busy witnessing and testifying. Thanks for sharing that passage with me. I went and read the whole chapter and it has spoke volumes to me. Have been doing a lot of meditation and deep thinking about some of my ways and methods the past few days. You're all invited to Union Baptist Church @ Blackfork on the 16 th of this month. It's the 193 rd anniversary of our church. Services that day are at 10:45 and 2 with a huge feed put on by the congregation between services. If you can make it, come for one or both services and a great meal!

Oh! Almost forgot to mention that on the way to the clinic this morning, I was still trying to figure out how we were going to pay the bills and even IF doc would give an ok for work, how long would it take or could we get caught up on stuff. We were sitting at the traffic light talking and I just happened to look up at the message board at Kali's Restaurant and caught the words "NOW HIRING". As soon as we got home, I printed out my resume and bee-lined it back to town. Told them that while I'm not certified, I do have some general HACCP training, hands on commercial kitchen work, and a lifetime of Grade A dairy sanitation. I didn't even ask what position they were hiring for. But the frazzed woman who was single handedly trying to wait tables, cashier and cook was very impressed and said it's refreshing to have somebody apply who actually has 'real' experience and not just a week or two of slinging fast food patties. She'd make sure the owner got my resume and application as soon as he came in tonight. Sure hope to get a call!! It's gonna take a while for our buget to recouperate from the past few weeks. From what I saw peeking through their pass-through window, I'd have a field day cleaning their kitchen, passing out hair/beard nets, and teaching how to ''prep".

PRAISE GOD!!! I knew He would take care of Mike... Had you both in prayers! Phil, you don't have to be under that pastor's roof to be right with the Lord...you're a good Christian man who never hesitates to testify and share The Word... Pastor gives ya any grief about it, tell him to give me a call and we can haggle over some verses. Heck, I need someone to argue with now that my lil Arkysaw Preacher's sick n I don't feel like aggravating him till he's healed up. And Faith, sometimes I think we must be related. Just yesterday at the save-a-Lot store in town, I arranged all the tomatoes n carrots to represent gentials....bwahahaha!!! ;D ;D ;D

LOL Pastor was just sayin' bout how on any given Sunday only about 18 percent of our population is in church. That is not a bunch only about what six million or so. But can you imagine what we could do if we could get six million going in the same direction all at the same time? Six million man-hours could get an awful lot done. That is three times the size of our armed forces. It equals three thousand men working for a full year. Bet Obama would like to see those numbers!

If six million Christians are sitting in the break room (aka church house) who's left out there getting the work done?? Yes. I believe it is important to attend church for fellowship and instruction. But at the same time, I don't follow with the belief of "if the church house doors are open, you better be inside if you want to be blessed". That's how too many churches have become "hot tub social clubs" instead of places of worship.
