I had those types of coffee pots years ago, but of course I went through that modern era and lost the old time flavors I was used too...Salt and egg shells is an old story,I used to do that, but I guess I away from it years ago...I still miss the old time cups of restaurant coffee...Seems thats when coffee was coffee.....

Yes Sir! That Logan's Road House had the best cup of restaurant coffee I've had in years. I must have drunk a pot full. Waitress says "Yes sir, I drink it all the time and it'll put hair on your chest." I squinted down, took a stare right between 'em, held it and replied; "Nawwwww," whilst I shook my head.

Dad, is now hooked on Community brand coffee. He was a Folgers drinker for years and Donna introduced him to Community coffee... Lol that's all he'll drink now!

Every once in a while I'll get Beaumont at Aldi's. It is always four bucks a can cheaper and it is real good coffee. It is about like Maxwell House original so it is quite tolerable; especially for the price. The empty cans are only good for gathering unusable grease so I prefer to get the coffee in the plastic containers for all kinds of after market utility!

I bought a couple a pounds of Ted Nugent's Sunrise blends last year and it was pretty good. It was VERY aromatic and m ade the entire house smell good, but was a tad bit weak I thought. I hadda add an extra tsp of coffee into my strainer and perk it a lil longer than usual, but it were a very tastey and enjoyable coffee, albeit a pricey one! I bought the "Fred Bear" blend and if the price ever comes down, I'll buy s'more!

I finally come to decide that my favorite coffee is anything that is on a clearance sale. Our local Dollar General just remodeled and a lot of the larger sized items have been discontinued. This included the larger can of coffee I sometimes buy at $5. There was a whole cart marked down to $1.25 and I loaded up. Not quite as good as Hill Brothers, but I won't complain at that price. Just used up the last big jar of instant decaf I got two years ago for 25-cents a jar.

Found imported Trucillo Moka Rosso Intenso (Italian espresso coffee) at Big Lots. Picked up a couple bricks and plan to give it a try. Don't really care for espresso, but I'm thinking maybe I could cut back on the amount and run it through the percolator and perhaps achieve similar taste results as the dark roasts I like for less $$.
Instructions are in Italian and the English translation is slightly broken.... "It is a blend of select and fine quality of Arabica and the Robusta. For people who like a coffee with a strong, taste and intense aroma. (Picture of stovetop espresso maker) Ideal to prepare with Moka. Suggestion for a good preparation and preservation: -Pour the water into the boiler until the valve, -Keep the flame low to get coffee slowly, -Mix coffee before offer. -After the opening, keep the coffee in refrigerator inside a box not transparent and with hermetic seal.

I'm drinking Kona right now, had a WinCo open it's doors 2 weeks ago and it was on sale. MMMMM is it good.
I didn't get into coffee until my 30's, then any old coffee would do, percolator, instant, whatever. Now I have turned into a coffee snob, I would sooner drink sock tea than the coffee at fire camps. So now when I leave on a fire or hunt I have a small backpack with my stove (Jetboil w/french press), an espresso maker, 2 lbs of ground and about a lb of beans along with my handcrank grinder. I step out of my tent in the mornings with a fresh cup in my hands. And a shot of espresso at 1400 helps on the end of a 2 weeks gig of 16 hour days.
I also hit the energy drinks on the long drives home. I like the taste of the Monsters in the green can, it is also a good tequila chaser along with the Pomegranite Rock Star. The 5 Hour Energy's taste like crap, I mix them with a bottle of water or a 7-Up.

Did I say I don't care for espresso? My taster must be changing 'cause I drank two pots of it today. Course, I had to flavor it up with some amoretto and caramel creamer.

Had to go mostly decaf. Finally determined it was caffeine that was causing a good majority of my massive anxiety attacks. For some reason, tea doesn't bother me though. Just wish there was a 'bold' or 'dark' decaf coffee on the market. If there is, I haven't found it yet. I've gotta use 3X as much to get a decent tasting cup. The rest of the attacks was caused from doormat syndrome. Of which I've managed to handle most of. For the next week, I'll be enjoying my puny decaf with hazelnut creamer. Took Mike down to get his work card today and had to walk through their break room to get to the powder room. Right there on the table was a near full box of hazelnut coffee mate creamers. Somehow, about two dozen of those little creamers jumped into all four of my jacket pockets.
