That's expensive eating... What does that 80 pounds of meat vs a $12,000 motorcycle come out to per pound???

OUCH!! Sorry about Jim and his ride. I've eaten pavement a couple times and it ain't no fun. But at least we know all the deer ain't high tailed it across the river yet.
Hmm.....There's a thought! Want me to see if Mikey can get us perched on a barge in the Ohio side of river at sunrise?

I think Mike's still hopeful. He pulled the grinder, hunting vest, Betsy, and 60 rounds out of the closet.

That's expensive eating... What does that 80 pounds of meat vs a $12,000 motorcycle come out to per pound??? All depends on how it's marketed. Get the right snobby NYC liberal suckers all in one establishment and you could probably sell organic, hormone & drug free, grass fed, free range, 100% natural and healthier for you quarter pounders for $65 a piece. So Jim could end up with his insurance check and $20,800 to boot!!

Just got in from four days in Georgia with my favorite girl!!! Oh boy, was it a GREAT weekend! Hunting sucked; steady downpour the whole weekend. Only had one buck come in and just before Tonya could get a shot at it, Scooby-Doo showed up and ran it off!!! I wanted to shoot the dog instead!!! Still; we saw a flock of over twenty gobblers in it and a small bobcat came stalking squirrels near the blind. All in all, a fun time!

Got a hunt this weekend in Alston, Fl. Near Zephyrhills...loaded with game! But I reinjured my left foot and leg loading cattle yesterday. I skipped this morning's hunt, but I'll be there tomorrow if I can get my hands on enough Ibuprofin!

Toby you are a nurse and you know what happens if that foot doesn't heal properly. So go sit your ass down and have some coffee and skip tomorrow. You think trading your foot for a day is a good trade then you got no Indian in you at all.

I'm with Phil on this one!! You go find a soft chair and let that limb heal properly! Besides, if you got cattle that are big enough to need loaded then you have plenty of meat. Have them all knocked down and wrapped so you don't have to go out and feed while you're mending. That'll give the game another season to fatten up. That's an order!! Or I'm gonna have to go buy a cattle prod, show up in your living room, and give you a ZAP every time you try to leave the room.

Faith, you better rethink the ZAP..should Toby have his gun near..Zap and he would be out on the woods hunting! ha!!
Toby, Phil is correct, but I know how much that you want that trophy Buck!! Have your Dad take you and if you have take something to keep your foot elevated. Keep your Dad with you..should you shoot a Big Boy!! He could field dress it for you.

Sharon, Dad's just getting over a heart attack; he ain't draggin or skinnin nothing...
Faith; when you zap me, just bring fruit-cake!
I paired up with a 70+ yr old vet and put him on a 60lb sow. He was tickled to death. i dropped him off where I would have hunted myself and moved down a few hundred yards. Just as I got settled and sat on my stool, I heard him shoot. I got the truck and drove to him and he had already drug it out to the trail and grinning ear to ear. THAT was worth any extra pain in my leg!!!
Sat out yesterday afternoon and this morning and headed out this evening and saw two does at fifty yards; a long shot with my bow, but I've killed thm farther with it in the past... Still, I let 'em walk hoping a buck would show up. Instead it just got dark and I saw nothing else but a fat ol' coon.
Staying in tomorrow and will try another property during the week with my bow.

I didn't realize that your Dad had a heart attack? Does he have stents or bypass? Good Luck hunting!! ;D

He had 4 bypasses in '04... One of the in 70% plugged, two others about 40% plugged up and the fourth, a tiny one on the back of the heart is 90% plugged. Doc says his heart is strong, though. He went in with chest pain, but he hadn't been taking his potassium pill and the pain was cramps in his rib cage. They ordered labs and his cardiac enzymes were normal. He insisted something must be wrong, so they admitted him overnight for observation. They had started him on a nitro drip, blood thinners, and another med I've no idea what it was for. During the night his new labs showed no abnormalities in the cardiac enzymes. Morning labs repeated; same things, all well. They scheduled him for a heart cath. anyway... During the cath. he experienced what the Doc called a very mild heart attack. Labs later that day returned with elevated cardiac enzymes. I'm convinced they gave him the heart attack, but dad was pleased, lol. He is resting at home and enjoying the extra attention.

All this really makes you wonder??
I had a heart cath. Oct. 2002 and heart attack a month later...I wasn't feeling so great in Nov., so my GP hooked me up to the Holter Monitor and while wearing it is when I had mine. They take labs before hooking you up and the reading from the HM..all right there in Blk. & White and down the road I went. They wanted to call EMS and I knew that if they took me..I would never get to Huntington, as by law they have to go to the nearest hospital. I put the fear of God in my nephew as he drove Mom and I. I told him that after we get down the road beyond Pt. Pleasant, if I was getting worse we could call EMS and then I would get to HUntington. I had my cellphone and we made it. They ran with me to the cath lab, as I had brought the labs from the day before and the results of the HM. Only one stent. Then, I had the gastric bypass in 2004 and by the Grace of God w/ pacemaker and defib.....heart is doing great!! Since, finding out that being dehyrated was causing low B/P. OK, now!!

Going to try to get out soon for a few hours to try to get a deer or hog in the freezer. Being laid up so long the freezers are near empty; never had a dry spell like this before.
Leg's bothering me... Fact is, it hurts like a sumbitch and really hard to get around right now. I overdid it earlier this week rebuilding the catch pen and loading chute to finish selling off the cattle. Tough to do alone. I twisted both knees walking around so much in that deep sugar sand. Knees and ankles both.
Taking it easy still cause of the blood clots, but I have gotten n a few hunts with no success and we need meat.
Hope I'm heaed up better'n this in January. That last 4 day weeken wasn't enough for Tonya and I, so she's coming here for a week or longer to hunt, fish, meet family, and I want to take her out dancing a night or two. I gotta fix these legs pronto...anybody know a good witchdoctor?

Now are you sayin' you weren't man enough for her, you left her wantin' more, or she's coming out cause you ruined her for other men? You might want to thin about wintering over a beef or two Toby. Even with the wild game available there might just be a need this year. I can't get my stores built fast enough to suit me.
