Rough night. Guess I overdid yesterday. I got to remember that everything takes three times as long. I'll be layin' low today for sure. Maybe catch up on some laundry or house keeping.

A better day! The third day I've been out since coming down sick and the first without back-up. I guess I could have told you last week what today's sermon would be; basically being a "doer" in addition to a "hearer". I got to tell you, my illness brought me to a place where I learned some things that I would have never "heard" let alone "do" earlier on.

Yesterday was really tough. This crap settled in my right lung and started the heavnesas and pain all over. Pretty much an all day thing. Then right around 1600 it just quit. I called John and accused he and his wife of praying. She said he was at the church and might be. Today is better. I managed to get out and get a haircut. Still a good bit of discomfort in my right lung. Better though than yesterday. Cousin Bruce got some good news. His SSI was approved retroactive to 2000 for a net due of $84,000.00 and change. They will dole it out as an annuity along with his monthly benefit over the next thirty years; which in his case is a real good thing. Glucose 116, weight "200"

Give Mike a call and rub them numbers in. Especially that "200"!! Any man that brags to his BIL that he's toting 325 and a 52 inch waist needs another fella to jerk him by the boot straps! I kept guessing each of their 'due dates' and they kept laughing that they put the tools away and built a shed. A shed?? Looks more like the metrodome!

I figure that I'll outlive one cause I plan to save my last ounce of strength to spend on her demise! Chinese restaurant changed hands. Last place I ate out and that was like a week ago Monday I think. Food was lousy and the service was worse. Only time I was ever in there and didn't leave a tip. I won't be back.

Too bad about the Chinese place trading hands. The one in Gallipolis is pretty good (sometimes too much msg for my tolerance though). But the one over in Ashland is AWSOME!! The buffet is is about 3 or 4 rows of steamers and ice beds, each about 20 feet long. All the standards usually found at any Chinese place. Plus all kinds of sushi and sashimi, loads of fresh seafood, lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Service is real good and place is usually very clean. Great all-you-can-eat lunch for $6.

Last place I ate out and that was like a week ago Monday I think. Wait a minute...a week ago Monday?? If I don't include Cafe Sharon on Eagle Ridge back on the 1st & 2nd) and I toss out all the smoked sausages and egg rolls I purchased at Speedway just because the dang things are there when I pay for my gas, the last place I ate out was.....hmmm....thinking.....pretty sure it was Golden Coral, seven weeks ago last Saturday. Pretty sure you was there too. Just figure it's not too appetizing for the other customers when I get to coughing up my toenails and loogies start splattering the place. I know what you mean about this stuff making you weak. I haven't wanted to do diddly-squat for the past three weeks. Was starting to feel pretty good when I was helping at Sharon's. But I think I got a chest and snort full of moss & wood pulp and too much sun while power washing. Have felt pretty puny and what I cough up tastes mossy green.

Yep, I was there. Sharon had a thing with her family as I recall. You know, I wasn't too thrilled with the food quality then either. As I remember the only thing worth eating was some top round steak that was well seasoned and cooked perfectly.

You'd better be planning to make room in the freezer come spring time. The Buck n Beans cattle/hay/chicken/grain/veggie/kid/grocery haulin' mobile is picking up a load of bottle babies this coming week. Tasty beef anticipated for April. Now, if you'd rather have a real cute house pet, I could just drop one off to you.

The guy across the field here kills, butchers, wraps and freezes for like fifteen cents a pound plus the hide. You might want to check it out. They kill on Monday so most everybody brings their critter in on Sunday. Pleasanton Meats I think the name is now. I think I might be able to handle a hind quarter or maybe a small half.

Yep I'm familiar with them. Got lots of boiling bones and hog scrap there when we were in the Guysville death trap.

Oh I figure 50 lbs burger, three or four four pound roasts and maybe a half dozen rib eye steaks, same in NY strip, a few T bones mix up another 85 to a hundred pounds in steaks and roasts variety. Like that.

Over in Krogers a few ago I ran into Lynda Berman. Although Friends of the Farmer's Market is now defunct, she plans to have the "Stone Soup" event in October. She wants me to do the squash soup again. Soooo.... if any of you are in striking distance.... Also ran into another lady I know from church. She says she needs a job with a paycheck. She has two tween girls heading back to school and she just lost her job. Her hubbie hasn't worked for quite a while now. So if you guys know of somewhere close with a job and a paycheck....

Certainly wish I knew of something for your church friend. I've been doing some job searching too. Not too much around here. Starting to see more "help wanted" signs in Gallipolis. Just seems like a long drive. Don't know if the gas would warrant it. Also having, maybe, a mental block as to my hirability. Could just need somebody to sit down with me and show me how what skills and training I have are relevent in today's world.
Looks like I'll be free and alone for most of October. Keep me up to par on what's going on with the Stone Soup deal.

Well I impulse bought a driveway! Not that it wsn't needed but surely wasn't planned. Fella said he had bought gravel all day run around until he found a driveway that needed stone and sold and spread it. He wanted $250.00 for eight ton. I figured that was a good price considering I paid $300.00 fifteen years ago. I didn't want to move the cars and had supper on the stove so I told him I'd pass. He said he wanted to get rid of it and head for home so I could have it for $215.00. I said let me get the keys and turn the stove off! It was done in less than a half hour and sure looks great. ;D Just as I sat down here I learned something new. One of the cats turned on the kitchen sink water faucet! Am I going to have to cage her when I leave??
