Muzzleloader season opens on the 4th so if I can get things together I may get her out then. I get the stitches removed on the 3rd and hopefully the knee can take the walking on the 4th. The 4th - 6th is either sex so all I have to do is "run" into a deer, any deer and get her a shot.

Got to get to work today on the muzzleloaders. My old CVA Blazer needed a new scope as the old one will no longer hold zero. The only pistol scopes I can find for it run $200.-$300 or more. I only paid $90. for the gun so that wasn't an option. I ended up buying a Red Dot from Wally World for $30. but I have to notch the scope base for it. My Traditions Buckhunter should be ready to go and I only need to take it to the range which I will after getting the scope on the CVA so I can sight both in at the same time.

$200 - $300 dollar scopes? I ain't never owned one worth more than eighty bucks. Heck, that Simmons 44mag, a 3x9 variable is on my hunting rifle and has never let me down. $55.00 at WallyWorld.

I can't use a rifle scope. The base is permanetly mounted half way up the barrel. I didn't have anything else to use at the time so I had a fellow worker mount the base with the pistol scope. I can move the base but would have to redo the bolt holes and the old ones would create a weak spot in the barrel that could blow out. Add that the screws are locktight'd in.

Pain meds and stuck in the house are definetly NOT a good combination. ;D Explains why the wife is not in a good mood. I did get the scope on and I'm heading out to the rifle range later today, when my oldest daughter gets home so she can run the 100 yards to put the targets up.

Would that assignment be fixing the avatars and smileys that are screwed up again? I would if I could, read, knew how.

It's been a hooray and dang day!
Went to my ortho post-op appointment. Stitches are out and everything is great and I get 3 more weeks of disability to boot.No formal rehab as he says I'm doing great on my own. Shocked him to see me walk in without crutches. Doc said with the amount of pulling and twisting he had to do to get the bones apart anybody else would have needed to be knocked out because of the pain but I did not. It totaly amazed him that I've not needed crutches or the walker for a couple of days. Feeling pretty good I headed for the rifle range. After about 10 shots I had a cap not fire, no bang, nothing. It was now jammed onto the nipple so I took my screwdriver to pry it back off. Yep, typical bonehead move, it slipped off and stuck in the palm off my right hand. I pulled it out and it had severed an artery. Blood squirted everywhere! By the time I got everything loaded back up(leaving a puddle of blood and a trail at the range) and got to my MD's office I was soaked in blood as was the front seat of my truck and the door, step, handle, ect.. What a mess. I walk into his office and the receptionist asks what I wanted. LOL, I stuck my right hand up and asked if Doc had time to look at "this", spraying blood all over her glass window. Anyway, now I don't have stitches and bandages on my knee. They migrated to my hand.
What a day!

Just remember ET, I'll be up there in about 10 days! Went out this morning for muzzle loader and my daughter comes walking up the trail yelling, "daddy","daddy" just at daylight. Seems a bear walked within 30 yards of her and it scared her more then she scared it. ;D ;D

Wow! What a shame the youngin' didn't have a bear tag! Man, you gotta take more better care of yourself! Did you get so used to makin' it around on one good leg that you thought you'd try it with just one good hand now? Keep it clean and watch out for infections and I'll add a prayer that it heals fast.

I'm just trying to catch back up on my stitch count yearly average. ;D I normally get 5-6 stitches a year but I had a dry spell the last 4 years or so and didn't get any. Doc said if I stopped putting foreign bodies in or through my body I'd be one of the healthiest people walking. Way I figure it is if I wasn't doing anything then I wouldn't be getting hurt. I'd rather have the stitches then let life go idly by. Bear opens Nov. 13th and 14th and she does not need a tag being a "youth". Bears are scattered for some reason this year and not staying in any given area.Confusing! It's going to take alot of hunting to get a bear this year for anybody. This afternoons hunt we saw lots, lots of squirrels and I had a flock of about 7-8 turkeys walk to within 30 yards. squirrel hunt and see deer and bears deer hunt see squirrels, bear and turkeys turkey hunt see grouse, deer and bears bear hunt see squirrels and deer Something just ain't right! ;D

Messed up this afternoon. Daughter and I had no sooner got into the stand that the wind picked up and it starting raining again. After 2 1/2 hours we decided enough was enough but I in one of my dumber decisions said we should go check out the bear hunting area from last year. You know the one W A Y back in the mountains. No sign of bear or deer or anything so I got another "great idea" to go ahead and carry my treestand out that I left there last season. The Doc said I needed to work the knee but I don't think today was what he had in mind so soon! OW, OW, OW, OUCH! Doesn't help to bring your kid along as a witness when you do something stupid! ;D All kidding aside, I don't think I would have made it if she didn't help! I'd probaly would have ended up spending the night.Yea, it was way after dark when we got back to the truck.

Don't think I posted this info yet. When we got married there was a big arguement from the wifes family that I was marrying Julie for her money despite my giving up all rights to it in a prenup. Her sister had said our marriage would never last because it was not as "strong" as her's.
I usualy don't poke fun at divorces but ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My employer has not paid me the 75% pay for short term disability citing that I could have done something at the factory. Instead they had me take FMLA forms to the doctor to fill out. He had already filled out and sent them the forms for the disability claim. He's as angry as I am! He was going to extend my time off from work but I insisted on being able to return to work instead of taking more time off. My health/medical insurance has now lapsed as well. The company said the weekly payments would come out of the promised disability checks. Kinda hard to do since they never issued a check. The company did pay me for 3 days of vacation that I had coming. The doctor is planning an as* chewing session with my company. I'll wait to hear what happens with that before I get the attorneys involved.

The damage claim adjuster finaly made it out to look at my truck, so much for Geico being fast. He dismissed the loose header as coincedence but claimed bumper damage, bumper valance damage, towing hook damage and a cracked 4 wheeldrive boot for a total of $759.. He ordered a dianostic test at a local garage though just to be sure about the bearings and wheels and anything else he didn't find. He had nothing bad to say about Ford or the F150 and said they can take a good hit like mine did and still be on the road. He saw that it was an Olds that hit my truck and he stated almost the exact damage to the other car.
