He did miss the bulls-eye a couple of times but you are right. After the way he saw me shoot he didn't want to make me look too bad ;D
Course, after he gets to know me a little better he'll find out that lots of things make me look bad so maybe he won't worry so much.
We sure did have a good time though and I'm looking forward to another foray into the wilds with him.

Well, guys and gals, just checking in after a long nites sleep!! Rich ran my a$$ off yesterday showing me around his beautiful property ::)What a place!! We shot the $hit, tryed to call in a coyote, did some target practice and walked over a part of his property..showed me a large gushing spring and cave and another creek with two beautiful rock ledge waterfalls! Basked in the sun and I thanked God for meeting Rich and sharing this with me. We didn't see a coyote but did get a glimps at a red fox. Rich shot my old Ruger 25/06 and if he was shooting at a buck we would have had fresh venison! ;D Had a great time and hope to share more moments with him Thanks, pard, for an enjoyable time.....Bill

Sometime this summer or fall I expect. Would like to get down there before the kids are back in school if they aren't going to Texas this summer and just about time for some fishing maybe. We'll see. Got May, June, and probably March/April locked up so yeah maybe August/September time frame.

Cooler in September than August - better fishing too. Come on out and visit a spell.

Hey, Rich, done with the "honey-do" list yet? ::)Time for you to take a five! No sense wearing yourself out ::)My aches and pains have mostly gone from hiking around your place. Should do that more and ttake some weight off! Am looking over cross bows to see which one to get! ::)Man, there's all kinds out there.!! What's a good brand to buy? I also bid on an electronic turkey caller like the varmint one we used! It must be getting close to that time as our big Tom is strutting all over the place! ;D ::)Bill

Bill,
Glad to hear you are up and about. I'll try not to work you so hard the next time.
As far as cross bows go, I'm pretty brain dead. The only name that comes to mind is Barnett.
Yep, won't be long til we are camo clad and hiding in the bushes. I can hardly wait.

Go over to the guns thread or PM DaGriz and ask him about cross bows. That man knows more about gear than the Cabella brothers! I sure am glad I decided to go on a diet and wstart conditioning before I come down there! ;D

I alreay tried that in Idaho! All I did there was a good bit of walking, slinging water and carrying a little firewood and ended up with a game wing and knee! Did lose 21 pounds in a week though!! Of course it is all back no plus

Paws, I hunted Idaho once, in the Bitterroots and Selway area. After that, came home to WI and ran backwards up these "hills" where I hunt.

Man I got to say it is worth the walk! I could easily spend the rest of my life visiting and camping in one western state after another just to see the sun come up and go down . I got to see my first pronghorns, mulies, mountain goats, bison herd, blue grouse, magpies, griz bear, and only the second time I have seen elk live.

Hey Kirbyhill;
Do you have any idea what the Arkansas state regs are regarding "shantyboats". houseboats, liveaboard boats, floating cabins, etc. I'm specifically looking for sanitation regs and registration regs.
A "houseboat" may be my only way to retire and live off the pittance I'll get from the Federales. At 56+ I don't own a home or land, have almost 0 in the bank, no retirement fund and don't have any rich relatives who're gonna kick and leave me any $$$.
Rent/house payment is the single biggest expense, and runs somewhere around $600/mo. If you only make $750 from SocSec how you gonna pay car payment, medical bills, food, etc.? But if you don't have that rent/payment it's not so bad. In my case the only way I can do away with that payment seems to be go "float".

Ken, I don't know a thing about regs on house boats. I do know that alot of summer people with big $$$$$ have floating homes on the lake. A friend of mine has one and he showed me some that were tied up near his that made his nice boat look like a shack!!There are some at the marina's but I don't know any particulars on them. Sorry :-/Bill
