They might be relatives Paws. That naked buck and gorilla thing might have had unforeseen problems. They got a good look at ya with the flash and might have been thinking "grandpa". ;D ;D

Be patient Paws. The new moon is coming and the deer are figuring out your current pattern. Pretty soon it'll be time to change your pattern and catch 'em off gaurd....

Wow, I coulda had a V-8!
The county I lived at in Indiana averaged 500 deer/car collisions every year. Thats over one a day. People up there constantly complain about the deer population. I've told them it wasn't the deer population but the human population that was the problem.I told them that if I built a highway through their living room, how long would it be before one of them got hit by a car? When they build 200 homes on a hundred acre woodlot where do they expect the animals to go? Suppose they are just going to fade away or vanish somehow. I always wondered why they had so many deer collisions until I read the police reports in the paper every day. Sure there was the deer/car thing but also alot more car vs tree, car vs pole, car vs mailbox and even car vs parked car. If those peoples driving ability sucked so bad that they couldn't avoid non-moving objects then moving objects I guess are a real problem. I always did like the car vs tree reports. The drivers all seem to think the tree just suddenly sprouted out of the ground and jumped across the road. We had a guy at 1:30 am on the road directly in front of our house swerve to miss a deer and hit a lightpole then continued on to hit three of our trees. Guy ranted about the deer. I told him the deer didn't hit the lightpole and the trees, he did. Guy got mad and said the stupid deer caused him to wreck though. I told him the "stupid" deer was back in the woods and he was here waiting to get a tow truck for his totaled out car so who was the stupid one?

Mars...our minds are running in the same channel today! Exactly what I thought! Check this out: V-EIGHT VEGETABLE BEEF or VENISON SOUP Makes 6 servings. 1 pound lean ground beef or venison 48 ounces tomato-vegetable juice cocktail Two 16 ounce packages frozen mixed vegetables Place ground meat in a Dutch oven or slow cooker. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain excess fat, and crumble. Add juice cocktail and mixed vegetables. If cooking in a Dutch oven, simmer for 30 minutes. If cooking in a slow cooker, cook 1 hour on High. Reduce heat to Low and simmer 6 to 8 hours. MMM-mmm good!

That's a good sounding soup Bill. I'm going to try it next time I make a pot. I usually put some V-8 in the pot anyways. Those moust be the states where they REPORT the most deer collisions. Around here they are in season year round with a bumper. ;D

Both y'all done better than me. I saw a deer on opening morning, gave him a warning shot (missed) and haven't seen one since. To be totally fair though, I have only been out a total of 3 times.

I got invited out to my old lease yesterday evening for a hunt. When I got there the folks there gave me a $100 bill and told me to hunt all I want for the rest of the season. When I couldn't afford the lease this year, one of the guys who wanted to hunt one of my old stands paid the club the $100. The other stand I had that was very easy to get to was left as an open stand but reserved. They were holding it for me. They didn't want to bother us but had decided that when I felt well enough to come out and hunt that they would have a spot for me. They even kept up the feeders and mowed the shooting lanes. Other than a couple of times the stand hasn't been used. Kinda made me all misty and stuff, ya know what I mean?

Brian, I agree that it sounds like you have some great friends. I'm not in a lease and that my be why I've had 2 climbing stands stolen off me this year and one of them was stolen out of the back of my pick-up. Be thankful for the friends thatcare enough to think of you.
