Write with a waterproof maker on your forehead "Must buy fishing license." That way you will remember it each time you look in the mirror or people give you a funny look on the street. ;D The other day I went fishing and drove about 100 miles to my favourite lake for rainbows. The bait was in the water and as I waited for a fish to take it, I thought "I just have a look at my license and take it out my wallet in case a warden comes." When I looked at the license it was expired for 24 hours. Never in my life have I reeled in the line that fast and got the hell out of Dallas as on that day. I had to drive all the way home to get a new license and then all the way back to the lake. What a day that was. I only get older not smarter.

I've done nearly the same thing...few years ago I was ML hunting the "last" day of the season..got all set up and was watching this huge doe working her way towards me when all of the sudden I hear a radio playing very loud and getting louder then I hear the noise of the truck..the deer of course looks in the direction of the noise also and shoots out of there like someone had lit her tail a fire...I was torqued to no end...I see the dump truck and trailer...it's Fred Flintstone (that the name we gave the guy...he come in and removes rocks for resale and rebuilds rock walls)...I figure it aint no sense in staying here and deside to go to the other property to hunt...I swing by the house to get some more coffee..spill coffee on myself have to change cloths..as I was doing so I pull the tags from my pocket and notice the date...the date...the date? ? ? OMG, that was yesterday....had to take the ol'meatmaker to the range and unload her...at least I got to shot her ;D

Do they offer a lifetime license where you guys are living?
In Fl. a lifetime sportsmans license (covering all hunting and fishing licenses) is $1,001.00 for all person's over the age of thirteen. It's a bunch of coin to flop down at once, but you'd never have to worry about expiration dates.

Here in Louisiana, I get my licences free as I am a disabled vet. The licence is sent every year and all I need do is sign it. It ci=overs all hunting except the federal stamps. Also all state parks and recreation areas are free as well as National Parks which are free to all vets.

I live in east tn. so not as many deer but plenty of bears. Turkey opens this weekend. Indiana has more deer then this area thats why I'd go back, plus the fact that I don't need a license up there.
Fishing here is way better though. Here you can enjoy your catch without the mercury and other chemicals that Indiana has. Here you can drink the water that your fishing in, up there thats committing suicide.

Uh Mars you do realize that the great state of TN was used as a major resource for assembly af nuclear waapons? I "accidently" discovered the remnants of a breeder reactor on Clarksville base at Fort Campbell. The small arms repair shop was occupying the main floor at the time and just below their feet was an empty pool where the reactor had once been surrounded by heavy water. No idea why it hadn't been filled in. Oddly enough a few years later the building was closed down. Seems as though unusually high radiation levels had been detected.

Hey Paws, we might know a "little" about it. ;D
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nuclear Fuel Services Erwin , TN Sole supplier of nuclear fuel to the United States Navy
Description: Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) is the sole supplier of fuel to the US Navy. New Source Solutions achieved security clearances necessary to work at its facility in Erwin, TN and placed two skilled resources to meet a critical IT need. To date, these resources have developed several applications for NFS, including one that involves problem reporting, investigation, and a corrective action system. When certain events occur, the appropriate individual is automatically notified via wireless pager and an investigation is launched. This application contains advanced reporting and metrics functionality, and allows a system administrator to control virtually all functional aspects of the application. New Source Solutions has also maintained NFS' legacy applications, created a security component used by internal applications and assisted in data modeling and database design.

I fish just below where they dump their treated waste water. Fish may look funny but they taste great! Just kidding. The waste water is clean enough to drink and I have.

LOL! ;D Yes sir, I guess you should. I was sure shocked. I was over there at small arms repair doing a manp;ower survey and made the mistake of asking what the drop cord control box was for. Well they said "watch this". When the shop foreman pushed the button the whole danged floor opened up and there whe was! Unbelievable. Along the walls in the hallway of this bunker there were spots along the walls that were painted over. Some of the paint was wearing off and there were warnings like "Danger" "Radiation" "High Explosive" . There were a row of what looked like jail cells down one corridor where components were stored and locked away. Remnants of rifle racks were still hung on the walls and guard stations . The roof was an upside down funnel shape and made of thick lead sheeting with heavy sod on top and completely grown over with grass and shrubs. Invisible from the air. They told me the design was such that an explosion woul cause the building to cave in on itself thus shielding from radiation escape. Of course the entire base was guarded from machine gun implacements in pill boxes and concrete bunkers all over the place.
