Thanks Toby,
I dont always like to mention these things on these boards.
Being new, I dont want anyone to think that I'm here just to make a buck.
But if I saw where someone needed something I had, I'd let them know.

GQ we have firemen, cops, judges, soldiers, sailers and even a couple USAF here on the boards. Everybody has got to be doing something so don't be bashful. (Just don't speak too loud about the Air Force guys; OK? You want a link? Let me know!

I always would look up at the Air Force planes going over head and wondered what it would be like to be up there instead of pounding the ground like I did

Man I love to fly! Big ones, little ones, government ones or UPS transport it don't matter. The hanging around waiting in the airport or tarmac kills me though. I spent four days waiting standby for a plane out of Vietnam to Clark Air Base living on a damned bench and eatin' out of inflight lunches. I'd have rather been humpin' the bush; at least you were movin' That's why I quit flying for travel before I retired and why I eventually took the early retirement. I'm not complaining cause the only fire fight I saw was a quick rocket attack at Cam Ranh Bay and the tracer rounds coming down into the hills at night way far off. Those boys in the birdies got up and were gone way before 0400 and would fly two or three missions a day, debrief, change clothes, catch a couple hours sleep and do it all over again. During Bullet Shot I was at Kadena (SAC) and they were running 12/7 shifts on the ground and the tankers were pulling two missions a day to feed the B 52s who were also running two missions, sometimes three, a day. Way too much like work! p.s. Ooops, I kind of forgot about that little incident at Kay Sonh (phonetic) where I was signed on as "observer " on a C-130B model flying "touch and go" delivery to hot airfields. I'm not sure if it was Charlie or the Marines shooting at us cause neither one liked us much. I do remember damn near falling off the cargo ramp trying to kick out a pallet of "Fresh Fruit" (Marines said rotten oranges) that hung on the rails. ;D
