Been harvesting nature's bounty. Have lots of blueberrues, rasberries and blackberreis in the freezer, Jams and jelly made and preserved. ALmost time to harvest cranberries. Got the freezer stocked with trout and walleye filets, now i will go after slamon for canning and fileting.
Won't be long before apples are ready for making cider and sauce. Then high speed beef for sausage, burger, pemmican and jerky! Yup, you betcha this Indian can survive! ;D

I just found a great patch of Wild Black Currents and have been picking the heck out of them, I am guessing there are no bears in the area because they are doing so well..... I have been building some thing a little different than pemmican. Fresh tomatoes, ground elk jerkey, potatoes, gellitan, and seasonings. Grind together into paste, spread onto sheets and dry. Cut into strips for travel. They can be eaten raw, or used to make soup. I like it in soup. It is light weight, travels very well, and will last for as long as jerkey does.... It also has a lot of good stuff in it to last on... Subsidized with greens one is able to gleen off the land as they move along the landscape, it is a great travel companion...
