Hi. I like to shoot 30-06. I load 49.5 grains of IMR 4320 with a 165 grain partition. It seems to work well for everything. Dave

Welcome to OCC Dave. DaGriz is on a hunting trip to Illinois and will be back in a couple of days. In the meantime why don't you jump up to the new members section and introduce yourself to everyone. ;D

Hey Dave There is no such thing as a bad load if iwhat you load works good for you. I like the 165gr bullets in the 30-06. Nosler Partition is a great bullet. They have never failed me in any caliber.
165gr Ballistic Tips with the same load will shoot the same and are much cheaper for practice and sighting in, then switch to Partitions for hunting.

If anyone is interested, I have some "Great" loads for what I shoot --- Handgun loads for: .44 Mag, .38 Special, .357 Mag, .40 S&W.
Rifle loads for .223, 22-250, 25-06, .270, 7mm Mag, .300WSM.
Most of my loads are below Maximum and were loaded for Accuracy in my specific weapon.

That is what is so fun about reloading, you make a good load for your gun and some other gun may like it but can you tweak it just that li'l bit more and get something better out of it.

Rtdcop, if yer still checking this thread after seven months, what kind of .44 do you shoot? Soon, I should be starting to work up loads for my 7 1/2" Ruger Bisley. Four years ago, I bought a four lb jug of 2400, 'cause that's what was working good in my .357. I sold the .357, but I still have the 2400. I hope I can get something good worked up using that propellant.

BL, that is what I shoot in my .41 and .44. I like the way it loads and meters and it jives me what I am looking for.

Excellent! I really like using Alliant powders. 2400 has been around a really long time. I also had lots of success with Unique. But for heavy hitting loads, I'll be using the 2400.

BL, I love my IMR for rifles but for big bore handguns then I can't beat 2400. Li'l gun works good for the small handguns but they are not as much fun and can't hunt game with them.
