I am getting back in the deer woods with a bow for the first time in over 10 years. I have a very old Bear Whitetail II compound with a 55# draw weight that shoots nice groups at 10-20-30 yards. I practice at least 4 times per week and get to go deer hunting October 2nd here in PA.

I shoot a Bear Kodiak recurve. 65# draw wieght but because of my longer draw length I'm pulling 72# with it. Our season in Indiana starts Oct. 1 and ends Jan.2 minus closing during shotgun and muzzleloader seasons.

I'm nearly ready and October 2 can't get here fast enough! I shoot a Fred Bear Code, 28" draw, 63 lbs. and left handed. I just bought some carbon arrows early this summer and like them alot. Wish I had switched from the XX75's sooner.
Good luck to you all!
Mac, I still have an old Whitetail Hunter I started hunting with 25 years ago. I still like the wat it shoots, very smooth and has a soft feel.

I shoot a Horton crossbow. The only way I can keep on bowhunting. I try to limit my shots to around 30 yards, preferrably less.

I shoot a BowTech Extreme Solo 56#,Carbon arrows,100gr Muzzys,282fps,Impact Cosmic sight with a 2x lense. I too hold my shots to under 30yds, not that I cant keep the arrows in the kill area at 50yds on a target.A live deer at 30yds or less is a dead deer when my arrow flys. I do mout of my deer hunting out of a API Grand Slam climbing tree stand.I like to get up 20 to 35 feet.
Michigan Oct. 1 through Jan. 1 except for firearm Nov.15 through Nov.30

LOL!! I bought several pair of fancy striped briefs; So I thought! Turns out they are actually "Boxer Briefs!" What the hell ever those are!! Anyway, they look like they just might do the trick if I ever take up the bow and the "plucking of the ewe"; not that there's anything wrong with that! (Chevy I think you would look great in green leotards!!

Paws, somebody done messed up and made me High Sheriff! It's on the archery topic to. I don't suppose I get the new gun do I? ;D I shoot a Bear- Blackbear compound as well. I love recurves but because of the let-off of compounds I sometimes opt for the Blackbear. Holding back that 72 lbs on the recurve for more then a second or two is impossible and still stay on target. I shoot instinctivly, no sights at all.
