I prefer GOOP on the nocks but it takes to long to dry for fletching unless you have the tool to hold the arrow. I don't know about you but I wasn't to satisfied with Fletch Tite.

I had a problem with Fletch Tite myself...there add is inaccurate as it does not have that great a bonding power....I use a whisker Bisquit, and sometimes as the arrow pass's thru, I may loose a fletch or two, or loose one and have another just loosens up....I know its not me, because I have the tools to support it until it finally sets....now I did see a product called Goat Tuff....which claims it can permanently bond the fletch in 5 seconds, but costs about twice as much as the Fletch Tite....maybe some one else will have an alternate solution...BTW, with my fletching tool, I can only do one arrow at a time.....so I need something quicker drying, just to speed up the opperation.........

Pretty much the problem I had with Fletch Tite. I shoot a recurve that I draw 72lbs off of and the feathers would fly off all the time. I switched to Super Glue on the feathers, worked about as good as anything but GOOP. GOOP works best but I don't have the tool to hold the arrow for 3-4 hours that it takes to set so I just use it on the loose ones and the nocks. I use feathers not plastic vanes so I don't know how it would work on them.

Steve,
That's a common problem with all glues and WBs..a drop at the forward end of the fletch will fix it (or at least it should..same thing Mars...I now only use inserts and those adjustable nocks and inserts for the BH so I use hot glue for those... makes it much easier to adjust if I have to tune the arrow....BTW I only use Fletch-Tite Brand glue, have for 30+ years no problems..carbons need to be roughed up just a bit and completely cleaned before fletching....just like with any glue.

Hey TT, that sounds like something I heard or read about on another site, about putting a dab of glue at the front end of the fletch.....The arrows I use for target work are alluminum, and as this is the first year for me with a bow, I havent used my hunting arrows which are carbon....so would you say Fletch Tite will have the same bonding effect with the alluminum?? Or should I change at least for that??

When I bought my last batch of arrows (carbons), the pro couldn't get the fletching to stick correctly so I went out and got him a tube of the fletch tite and had him use that, it worked great, no problems..always did use it on aluminum...
