The last meal thing. Broke my heart when I saw Rachel's wedding ring. I figured she would wait for me at "The Chinese Dragon" another one of my favorite eating places! ;D

;D Up until you saw the ring, you just thought she was playing hard to get, huh? ;D Ya'll ever hear of the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, Fl.? It's world famous for the incredible Cuban cuisine as well as it's history amongst the mob! It's the last remaining, sho nuff, speakeasy from the prohibition era in the area and it has hidden rooms, false walls, and even an emergency tunnel that runs from the hidden meeting room to a warehouse a half a block away. It was the favorite meeting place of all of Tampa mob bosses for a few generations and supposedly Santo Tropicani, the late Cuban mafia leader conspired to have Kennedy assassinated in his convertable limo driving down Bayshore Blvd in Tampa the week before he was "hit" in Dallas, but for some reason the shooter couldn't get the job done. At least that's supposedly the story Santo told before his death of heart failure at seventy-three. Back in my serious dating years, if I truly wanted to impress a girl, that's where we'd go. After an incredible meal, we'd take a stroll through the historic district and stop in at one of the old cigar factories, turned blues/coffee houses. Good nights!

Just saw yesterday that the little BBQ palce down the road from me closed up. They had a great saturday night BBQ buffet. All you can eat and it included pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, BBQ chicken, both pieces and shredded, smoked pork chops, brats, mashed taters, baked beans, cole slaw, gravy, green beans with ham and onions, tater salad, mac salad, plus a slice of homemade pie for $11.95. Gonna miss that place. I could never figure out why they place wasn't packed. It was really good.

Well my favorite dinner spot is the Hickory House in Reynoldsburg. There is also one in Gahanna and Powell.Don't know about them. The one in Reynoldsburg is almost like Cheers.Everyone knows everyone.Great BBQ ribs and a porterhouse to die for,and the best onion soup I have had the pleasure to eat.Prices are reasonable. snake-eyes

Bob Evans here on State Street in Athens is now on my list of favorites since my cousin Shawn Bailes took over as Manager a few weeks ago! One hell of a nice kid and a really decent cook as well.

Well shucks, Shawn got transferred to Mason West Virginia so now I guess my favorites are Appleby's cause they have the best coffee on State Street, except on Saturday when Noodles is serving at the Farmers' Market, and Ponderosa cause the cute little gal who walks around with flour hand prints on her butt works there!

Phil, glad you like the joe. My apologies to Jim. Drove out of the mall and forgot to stop at his produce stand.
