I was looking for a discussion we started a long time ago about gross food and strange culinary customs around the world. I ran across a link that stirred remembrance. Check out this link: www.gadling.com/photos/gross-food/And yes indeed, Paws...they show a Balut in great detail. I need to look at this everytime I feel like breaking my diet. ;D -Rogue-

Exactly right man it is really nasty! I don't think I'd ever put anything that nasty..... I think I already did! Sure am glad we can't smell the thing!

Damn, wonder what they have for dessert? ? Honey covered opossum tongue sounds good....washed down with some three week old chicken blood left on the counter. Now that would be a feast snake-eyes

Desserts are fresh fruits, ice cream, halo halo, babinka, suman, or sometimes sugar cane stalks, lots and lots of chocolate puddings, cakes, etc.

Chase it down with a handfull of pills and an insulin IV, he'd weather it okay. ;D Personally, I think I just had the nastiest meal I've ever tried to choke down the other day. My Mom's boss, from India, invited us over to a barbecue at their place with all the workers, kind of an unofficial office party. I reluctantly went and wound up eating this damnfolded over fried pastry stuffed with some mysterious gelletenous mess mixed with squid tentacles. I choked it down and chased it with six or seven Ice House longnecks. It was really sweet and tasted not entirely unlike pecan pie, but the texture and visual appeal, coupled with knowing what it was, gagged me!
