I am going to start doing my DO recipes in earthen ware inserts! Now, anybody got any ideas for a source for pots that will fit? I was thinking about this and I'd be willing to bet that it was one way of using the DOs back in the day. Why do I say this? The French, Chinese, Spanish, and English were using clay, and stoneware for cooking, and serving extensively. The American and Mexican Indians had been using earthenware for centuries. I just can not believe that being the innovaters our invading ancestors were that they didn't pick up a trick here and there.

Well this is gonna sound wierd, but how about those earthenware dog bowls? I'd think they would be just about the right size.

Might work if the are cheap enough. I expect quite a bit of breakage. Hey, I got my cook book and started a thread in Recipe Box.
