SMELLY OLD SHOES can be used as a deterrent to deer. Just stick the shoes on top of tomato sticks, and watch the deer walk a wide circle around them. My shoes usually last from mid-May until about mid-August. That is, they keep the deer out of my garden for that long. This depends on the amount of rain and how much your shoes smell.
No wonder we kept finding old shoes around when we were out. These folks found uses for things that are considered trash now.... ;D

I always heard that you ought to go to the barber shop and get his sweepin's. Human hair does the same thing as them tennis shoes.
Also, Dial soap is s'posed to make 'em stay away too, though I've never tried it. To date, all of my efforts have been to attract them!

Smelly old shoes are also a deterrent to my dear. If he gets too frisky, alls I have to do is kick off the shoes and he leaves me alone! ;D

Remember to use the original funky yellow colored Dial soap bar...the fruit scented ones seem to just make the deer hungry as does the Spring Rain scent! ;D
