Well, Ft Ligonier survived the forces of France and the savages from up north. Here's a photo I posted in another thread. It's of me ;D preparing to fire a defensive round from from the north lane of the the main Battery. The fellow in the brown head rag had fired and was going back to safely reload. The highlander was finishing loading and followed me. Rolling fire was given from this location, by 10 to 12 men, 3 at a time, using the 3 cannon firing lanes of the main battery area. To take a visual tour of the fort, go to: www.fortligonier.org/index.htm :and click on Virtual Tour and follow the instructions.

And on a Tuesday every spring and in November, I do my part to try and keep t that way. I hope everyone else feels that way. I go out and Vote!

We in America really are blessed with our freedom of gun-ownership. Last month when at the Battle of Franklin event, we had 4 Danes fall in with us. They told me stories from Denmark that curled my hair. They did own a FEW guns, but are so strictly regulated that they cannot enjoy them. And they evidently have a tough time getting together for "reenactments" over there due to regulations.

;D Forced the French and their savages back to Ft Duquesne with their tails between their legs. We had a great weekend at Ft Ligonier in PA. Rangers on watch prior to the attack. I'm in the workers cap watching the field. Rangers stand for inspection.... as we always do! Loosely! The front gate guarded by PA regular. The rear gate at Ft Ligonier.

The events and story line of the Duke's movie, "Allegheny Uprising", took place in the Conocochequa Valley near the Conocochequa River between Chambersburg and McConnelsburg, PA. Ft Loudon is the fort from the movie and now a small community is located there by the same name. The reconstructed fort is in the State Park of the same name. In the picture below, you can see the fort between myself and the monument there. The fort is square in disign with four corner bastions that are designed so that two lookouts in opposing bastions can effectively cover and watch all four sides of the fort. My reenacting group often holds tactical events there. Great fun events.

The brazier in the photo belongs to my buddy, Mickey Davis. Another friend built mine. I'll look around and will send you an email if I find it.

Some cat had one for sale on e-bay in his words "authentic museum quality replica". It was beautiful; but his opener was $900.00. His was a small one designed for an indoor tea service. What Sutlers do you use?
