I had a recent bird hunt with my friend Phil and his female German Short-hair, Bella. I used my Tulle de Chase 20 ga/.62 cal flintlock and dressed out PC (+ orange required for insurance purposes). Four for five I was. Two Ringnecked Pheasant roosters, a Chucker and a Bobwhite; then, I missed a Bobwhite. ;D The view was magnificent.

Very impressive sir. Not only the PC but the shooting too.

Most impressive! So, you've got ringneck there in Westmoreland? If so, just might have to make a trip over sometime.

The hunt took place in Ginter PA. My friend is a member of a wingshooting and kennel club there. He'd purchased his female German Shorthair, Bella, from the place and goes there to hunt and train the dog. Like he told me when he invited me to hunt with him; " You can't teach a dog to retreave if you don't shoot something for it to go after and bring back." ;D So I was supposed to shoot something, to help practice the dog. And she sure works well. She didn't seem lax in the ways of a pointing hunter. I had a great time there and am looking forward to helping train Bella some more .
