Dennis, I often wondered about that first atonement and how it was handled by God. Everyone I know virtually seems to think that the Tree of the forbidden fruit and the partaking thereof was some kind of sex act; however, the evidence would point more to the probability of the killing and eating of flesh as opposed to the intended food for man; ergo, nuts and berries! Just theory. Slim.....; yech!. Sounds like some of that coffee might go well with the second thing out of that chicken's butt! (Although, I have had worse I guess!)

I call it run around the block coffee, definitely won't be falling asleep on the morning stand. I fill my canteen cup about 2/3 full then cut it with water so it's drinking temp. There are 2 brothers I have guided the last couple of years that think that is weak. This year they brought up a lb each of Starbuck's French Roast and Columbian and had me put 2 scoops of each per pot. I needed to be sitting on my porta-pot with my laundry around my ankles before I took the first sip or three, even cut with a little water.

LOL! Reminds me of when I first got to Mactan Isle. Being the newbie and lowest rank in the section making the coffee became my job. I took that 30 cup percolator apart and it was the nastiest damned thing I ever saw. Had this one Tech Sgt start hollerin; "Don't wash that pot you'll ruin the taste!" I hollered for the Captain; "Sir who is in charge of this coffee pot me or TSgt Aaron?" Captain Hahn grinned and said I was. I got a can of GI comet out and scrubbed that damned thing brand new. Then I rinsed it out perfect and set up a pot just like Ruthie back at Trace's Drive Inn taught me with a pinch of salt in the grounds and everything. The water was as pure as pure could be as it was dasalinated from the sea and that coffee was terrific; better even than the chow hall which was real good. I think at that time we had a half dozen inspectors, two clerks, Technical Order Monitor, Captain, and Chief so eleven of us in all and I was making three 30 cup pots a day. TSgt Aaron became my mentor but back then we didn't know it!
