I been scooting around in the recipe box and elsewhere looking for that KFC batter recipe for the original recipe chicken.
I went to KFC yesterday and git a three piece with taters, cole slaw, and a biscuit, but I remembered when I tried it on my own and it was doggone tasty, but I couldn't find where I'd copied it down. I was thinking on trying it out again, but now I don't know where it's at.
Anybody help me find it?

I haven't looked but I think that recipe was posted on one of my requests for batter for fish. I'll see if I can find it.

Toby,
my friend, I do believe that it's hiding amongst the many pages of "what's for supper" I remember Paws (or some one) posting it...If ya want to try a new one get some Aunt Jamima Pancake Mix, add about 1/2 cup of fine ground corn meal (more if needed) add some chopped hot peppers of your choosing, some minced garlic and grated onion...mix the batter in accordance with instructions for PC then add the CM and all that other stuff till it's the right Constancy. deep fry as always...when the chicken's done add more CM to the remainder of batter and fry that up like a fritter...

I was thinking on trying it out again, but now I don't know where it's at. Anybody help me find it? KFC Original Fried Chicken 1 frying chicken, cut into frying pieces 1 1/2 cups flour 1 Pkt. (dry) Good Seasons Italian Dressing (THE 11 herbs and spices!) 1 Envelope Lipton (or other brand) Tomato Cup of Soup 2 eggs, well beaten 2/3 cup milk Vegetable oil to cover bottom of your skillet; about 1/2 inch deep. 1. Combine eggs and milk. Set aside. 2. Combine flour with the Italian dressing and soup mix. 3. Dip chicken pieces in milk-egg mixture and roll them in the flour-seasoning mixture. Repeat procedure. 4. Fry pieces over medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes, turning often. 5. Remove from fire. Drain and serve. Here you go dude! Bonus: KFC Gravy 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 can Campbell's chicken broth (plus 1 can of water) 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon MSG or Accent Flavor Enhancer 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1. First make a roux by combining the oil with 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour in a medium saucepan over low heat. Heat the mixture for 20-30 minutes, stirring often, until it is a dark chocolate color. 2. Remove the roux from the heat, stir in the rest of the flour, abd add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan; mix well. 3. Put the saucepan back over the heat, turn it up to medium and bring the gravy to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until thick. Makes about 3 cups.

You're right Mars, we did have it in the fish fry discussion, but I couldn't remember where that was either.
I tried it last year on fish and they came out kinda soggy. It's a great batter for chicken and I might use it on some turkey breast this spring, but I wouldn't use it again on fish.
