Well Gieco closed my claim because they said damages are less then my $500. deductible. Interesting since the repairs already approved and done by the adjuster total more then the $500.. Plus the repairs that are pending which total about $800. more. The other drivers insurance company, farm bur., excepts 100% liability but won't pay because repairs have been done via Gieco. So, Tuesday my truck goes back in to fix the remaining things and anything else that they may find and I send the repair sheets to my attorney in Indiana to file in a suit against the other driver. And yes, I'm ditching Gieco!

If it makes you happy then grab it. If there is any doubt at all leave it alone.

I have been in the rental house and up to the cabin. I'm withholding judgment till we can get into the main house. The property is fine, just cluttered with piles of lumber, firewood and sheet metal. There's enough scrap metal to maybe interest a scrap dealer enough to clean it out for me.
4 old cars at the back of the property and a small dozer. 2 Ford trucks, 1 a "flat"bed and the other a pickup. Both look to be 1950 era. A Rebel 771 Rambler and a El Camino. Again, they may be worth it to someone to haul off for me.
Saw deer tracks around the main house and deer have a nice trail at the cabin because there's an apple tree up there.

Mars there is one and only one guy I would trust to help me make a decision on buying real estate in Tennessee. His name is Sam Salerno and the last time I talked with him was probably 1982 or 83. His last known was in Clarksville, Tennessee. He is one hell of a sharp guy and has his shit wired tight. If you are able to find him and contact him use my name. He'll do you right.

We are going to pass on this one. The property and it's location are great but even the main house is too small for us to use as a family. If our children were old enough to be moving out soon then it would be OK but that's probaly not going to happen for atleast 7-8 more years. So the search continues.

Ended yesterday with a bang. Got bills paid and taxes done and had a optometrist appointment to get new safety glasses for work. I'm getting bifocals put in both glasses this time so I can have a backup set exactly the same as the other.During the exam the doctor discovered a cyst and after the exam decided that it had to be removed. He numbed both eyes and proceeded to "scrape" off the cyst. Even numb it's not a great feeling to have someone poking a stick in your eye. I was supposed to work overtime last night (my saturday) but 4 hours after the exam I wasn't feeling so good, the numbness wore off. I took a sick day and this morning things are pretty good. Not a bad deal with him! My company has a contract with the optometrist at Wal-Mart but I won't go there. Some things just ain't right no matter the price. When this doctor asked about my insurance and that my company would not be paying for my safety glasses because I will not go to Wal-Mart he discounted the exam for me. I picked up my daughters glasses, two pair of safety glasses for me and exams for my daughter and I and it cost $341..

The road in front of it is in the city but the house is in the county. No land just a 150' x 120' lot but that's all forest behind it. It also is in a marked deer crossing zone. Bear? Turkeys? There's a "barn" that goes with it which is really a house of about 100+ years of age. I may be able to fix it up to pretty decent shape. Somebody has already started the attempt. The previous owners left a lot of furniture behind that goes with it. Most of it is brand new and still has the tags on it. The kitchen is huge. Bigger then the one we had in Indiana. Ceramic top stove and two ovens, microwave, dishwasher and side by side freezer/refridge, all brand new. Built in stereo system. Fireplace Outdoor 6 person jacuzzi. The only real problem is it's on a pretty good slope. The picture is the view looking up from the road.

Oh yea. The slope is because it's almost at the top of a "hill". The view is great!

Asking price was $90.000. I offered $80,000.
They countered with $88,000.
I countered with $84,000.
They, $86,500
I, $84,000.
They, $85,000 if I closed in 2 weeks.
I, $84,000. and I close when I can.
They, no.
We close on the 23rd at $84,000. pending another buyer who has till tomorrow to get his financing. He has had 3 months so it doesn't look like he'll be buying it unless he pulls something off at the last minute.

So, are you goin to close on the 23rd?

Nope! The listing realtor (Century 21) is allowing their "buyer" more time to get financing so I have to wait. The realtor I'm buying the house through (Hampton Realty) is saying they probaly do not want to split the realtor fee so they will "allow" the other guy more time that way if they get lucky they make twice the money then if I bought it. Interesting part is that I have a signed offer of $84,000. and a closing of the 23rd or as soon as I can get the paperwork completed near that date. They signed it so I'm wondering if it would be a breach of contract if they keep allowing the other guy more time beyond what they signed with me. When I made the offer they stated his last day was going to be last Tuesday and they accepted my offer which was based on that.
