Well to tell you the truth with Uncle Paul, Uncle Benny, and Dad and Mom gone; the 4th just doesn't mean anything any more and cookouts on holidays are real downers for me now.

Burgers, hotdogs, chips, soda, and watermelon.
Dad hates the fourth because he's the designated chef, which is wierd since he cooks all of the time. I ain't figured it out. Probably setup the sawhorses out back again. I'm not sure if my brother or my sister and her husband will be over or not, but I half expect them too.
Too dry for the fireworks thing for the kids, so I'll take them spotlighting in the management area and see how many deer they can count.

The brisket thing sounds good. I have a nice big ole 12# packer brisket in my freezer. I may have to pull it out and put it in the frig to thaw once I get all those pork butts delivered to that wedding.
It should be thawed in time for a nice 17-18 hour cook on Tues. night. Just put a lil rub on it, stick in the smoker and go to bed. It dont get any easier than that!

Well, the holiday is over and I'm still stuffed from the excellent food..Girly Girl's 2nd Family puts on quite the celibration...Wyane makes a smoked BBQ pork loin that's to die for...plus all the cooking of burgers and dogs and cold salads that are eaten all through the day along with the Garbage Can Turkeys it was a total palital delight...then about 1200 sky bursting fireworks just after 9 PM finished the day with one hell of a bang...
So whad ya'll do and eat?

Well she worked an early shift so we had dinner around 8PM. My miscreant cousin Christopher was supposed to join us but failed to do so. I made up a Philly Cheese spread with corned beef, cilantro, dehydrated onion and a little seasoning. Fixed those Vienna Sausage "taste like" bratwurst in the pouring rain and saddled the plates with spud salad and baked beans. All were Sue's requests. After we ate and the rain subsided the Barnhart clan (the ones out on parole or probation) treated the neighbors to their annual fireworks display. We missed the final'e (that's where eight or ten Sheriff cars pull up and all the Barnhart cars head out like cock roaches when somebody turns on the lights!)
