The following list are some dry goods that low carbers should have stocked in their pantry's. All items can be found on the internet if your local grocer doesnt stock them:

Sample Recipe:
LOW - CARB PEACH COBBLER....
Prep time: 20 minutes.Baking time 25-30 min
Serving Size:1/8 total yield .Amount per serving:9.2 gr of carbs, 5.7 gr of protein: 8 Servings................Carbs(gr) Protein( gr
2 cups freshly sliced peache's -- 30 - 0
**4 packets Splenda sugar sub -- 4.0 - 0
1 tblsp butter optional -- 0. - 0.
Batter:
3 ounces cream cheese -- 2.4 - 6.3
1 tblsp soft butter -- 0 - 0
4 egs separated 1.2 - 24.
1/3 cup light or heavey cream -- 2.1 - 1.6
2 tsp vanilla extract -- 1.0 - 0
1/4 cup stone ground whole wheat flour -- 18.1 - 3.0
2 tsp soy protein powder -- 0 - 8.0
2 tbs whole almond meal -- 1.5 - 3.0
1 tsp baking powder -- 1.2 - 0.
12 packest Splenda -- 12.0 - 0.
Trace of salt -- 0 - 0
Totals -- 73.5 - 45.9
** For some unknown reason Splenda packets provide a more sweeter flavor than the loose.............
Preheat oven to 350 degs Butter an 8X8 or 9X12 inche oven proof glass baking dish or a nonstick baking pan......................
Lay peaches evenly over the bottom of the pan.....sprinkle 4 packs Splenda over the peaches......Dot with 1 tbs butter ( Optional).............
Prepare batter by beating the cream cheese , butter, and 1 egg yolk in the bowl of an electric mixer witha flat beater; beat until thick and creamy ( no cream cheese lumps). Add 3 other egg yolks and beat briefly again. Mix in the cream and vanilla extract.Add the remaining ingredients except remaining egg whites and stir just until mixed.
Beat the egg whites until firm but not stiff and fold or stir into the batter ( this batter is a bit on the firm side).Spread the batter over the peaches and bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until golden and done.....
Serve hot or cold........
Variations.......
LOW CARB RHUBARB COBBLER
Sub 3 cups of freshly chopped rhubarb....Total carbs 10 gr.....You will need to increase the Splenda to 15 packs....A 1/8 piece will have 7.6 grs carbs.....
LOW CARB APPLE COBBLER
Apples work nicely if you cook them first.....You'll need 3 cups of sliced and peeled apples.That adds 42 grs carbs....Cook the sliced apples in a skillet in 2 tbls melted butter until tender then put them in the bottom of the pan......1 piece of apple cobbler equals 10.2 grs carbs
LOW CARB STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE
The cobbler batter is light and airy...It wil make 8 little cakes...Thoroughly butter a 3 inche non stick baking pan or ramickien Run a 1 inche strip of waxed paper across the bottom and up the sides to help remove short cakes that may stick. Distribute batter evenly . These cakes are best used the day they are baked or you may freeze them...Each shortcake has 4.9 grs carbs 5.7 grs protein..Leave out the sweetner and you get 2.5 crabs ea......Pile strawberries and cream on top...Count the extra carb grs.......................ENJOY!!!
