;D I've been threatened, hogtied and dragged into joining. Two Tales has been telling me I needed to join real soon before something happened. So, here I am! After all, I didn't want anything bad to happen. When TT and I went out to Ohio last year we met Phil for lunch and the old phart flirted with me the entire time. I have two boys ages 21 and on Wed. the oldest will be 24. TT gave me the opportunity to start hunting for the first time. I've been a member of the BSA for 18 years. Within the first couple of years I joined the quartermaster staff which opened the door to dutch oven cooking. With the injury of the lead quartermaster last year (of one of the training courses I help out with) I was asked to take his place.

Welcome on board girlygirl! Yeah, I too was strongly encouraged to join the group. Only difference is that I'm suspectin' I'm going to be threatened, hogtied and dragged off the dock by some of the guys around here if I keep opening my mouth and lettin' my fingers fly. Haven't met the other gals on the list yet, looking forward to it, but I'm also very glad to make your acquaintence! Congrats on raising two sons! Hope they're both doing well. I also have two sons, 26 and 29 yrs of age. Look forward to hearing what you have to say, maybe you can keep these boys in line.

Welcome aboard GG. Your BSA group sure seems to take a serious approach, having an official QM and all. Summer camp(Hidden Valley, PA.) was the first time I even heard of the word QM, and it mostly had to do with where the store was. My troop, correction, I, could have used a bit more discipline and structure. BUT, I view the scouting experience as pivotal in who I have become, especially the way I look at the motto and oath. Be prepared! pretty much sums up my current efforts at a comprehensive community approach to the changes predicted for this century. Like to find out more 'bout Order of the Arrow at some point, and possible connections to rebuilding balance. Again, welcome aboard, and thanks for your efforts in BSA.

You know Noodles, I knew there was somehing I liked about you! I am probably the only Tenderfoot Senior Patrol Leader that ever existed! Was back in 62 as I recall The Salvation Army church right here in Athens put together a scout troop and all of us were brand new. We elected leaders and set about scouting business as one would suspect. We had two eight man patrols to start with and a lot of work ahead of us. Sound familiar? p.s. We got to get TT, Lefty, KJ and you all together.

Welcome, I am also relatively new. I was not threatened at all to join. In fact, Phil grudingly invited me after I offered to tell some war stories about our time in the Philippines. I haven't always been a preacher!! Again - Welcome. Jerry
