Well it is time for another Farmers' Market cook off and the theme is "apples". I have a half baked idea and here it is. What I want to end up with is a two layer cake only the layers are fillings and the cake is pretty much dividers. Kind of an ass backwards thing. The idea is to end up with a cake with a texture like an angel food which includes apple bits/chunks in the cake, stuffed on the first layer with a cheese cake custard with a strong apple and cheddar flavor, maybe from apple juice and of course the cheese, the 2nd layer being a stiff apple pie filling topped with a streusal scatter and sliced almonds. Ideas? Comments? H-E-L-P!!

You got me stumped on that one. Not quite sure how you'd go about it.
Here's another idea though. Apple-Cranberry-Cheddar Pie. Like the name implies, the filling had apples, cranberries, and cheddar. The crust also has cheddar in it. If interested, I have a recipe you could work off of (or modify).
I'm trying to come up with a caramel apple cookie for next week. I'd like a soft cookie but with bits of semi-crisp apple and gooey caramel. Any ideas?

Make your caramel ti a soft ball stage and dry your apples to leathery chips then toast the bastards before you put them in the batter. For your walnuts, run over them with the car to shed the husks, make the kids crack and pick them and wear gloves. Got to tell you that pie sounds really good.

Well Paws, how's the cake coming along?
How's about a thin layer of yellow cake on the bottom, a layer of cheesecake mixed with some apple sauce, another layer of yellow cake and a cream cheese icing with bits of apple in it? Mix the yellow cake layers with apple juice???
You know I ain't no kinda chef, but I do love to eat! Leme know how you're coming along with it so I can pass your ideas on to Chicken.
She just made a three layer yeller cake with whip cream and strawberry icing with some kinda meringue in between the cake layers with strawberries in it too. She cooled it overnight in the fridge and it was not only pleasing to the eyes, it was damn pleasing on the palate too!
