I have been back in the old (new really) homestead for two months now. Everything is going pretty good so far. The boys and I are in the process of getting our things moved back in a little at a time. Yesterday I get the water bill. What a shock...it was for $162 I was not able to check the meter yesterday but I did call the water company. These people must work out of their house or something. I get an answering machine. I left a message. No return call. I called them again this morning and if I do not hear from them soon I am calling this afternoon. No matter, it is still good to be back home.

Paying for water???
I hear about it all the time, but can't imagine being charged to take a drink or bathe.
Glad your getting settled in. Throwing a homecoming party?

Paying for water??? I hear about it all the time, but can't imagine being charged to take a drink or bathe. ;D Toby, That is a good one! The best part is the water coming in is the cheap part....That's just part of the bill . I have my current water bill in hand for the last 3 months, and these are the exact charges: Water charges- 44.89 Sewage charges- 59.30 Clean River Fund? ? 7.88 Stormwater charges? ? 11.61 TOTAL 123.68 As you can see it cost more for the water+ that leaves, than the water coming in snake-eyes

I don't have a sewer bill as I am on septic tank and there is no storm water charge out here for me either. I am thinking there is either a leak or they are trying to charge me for some unpaid bill left by the nazi woman.

I made an attempt to reseed my front lawn last week. Pathetic I will wait until Spring before I do it again.

Somebody already paid for the waster coming in when it left their place before once already!

Still no reply from the water company. I guess they don't realize that they will not get paid until this thing is taken care of.

Before we moved out here, I tried calling the local water company several times. Sounds like the same team works at your water company. I finally decided to haul my butt 40 miles to their office. It's the only way them idiots will take you serious. They about dropped dead in their shoes when I showed up wanting action.

I may end up doing just that Faith, if they don't get their act together. I don't know what their problem is and I don't really care. I do know they suck at customer service.

Man, what a nightmare I had last night. I dreamt I was in bed (which I was) and I felt someone laying on my hand which was stretched away from me. It was the nazi I immediately went to get my cell phone which was near a box and in my dream it was in the same place. Perhaps that is one of the reasons it felt so real. Anyway I was calling 911 to get the police there when I woke up. When I woke up I was breathing hard and my heart was pounding. I guess I was thinking that she was going to stick me with a knife or something. She got that crazy look in her eyes which I have seen a couple of times before. I had to do a double take when I awoke to make sure she was not really in the room. That was around 03:30 this morning. My clock was set for 05:30. Point of fact: she should not be able to get in without breaking something because the locks have been changed and the code is changed on the garage door. I can't wait for this thing to be over with.

I get up at 3:00 AM central time almost every day of the week. Ever once in a while I will sleep in, but most times I get up at that time 7 days a week.

The lady from the water company finally called me back. Guess what the actual bill was?
Come on...guess
$13.21. Yeah, that is a big difference from $162.
