I have a question? For Christmas Santa brought us Two New Cell Phones. Good But the Asinged # , when I call it from my land line I get I must dail 1 + Area Code to complet this # Now the Cell phone priveder says that I will not be charged for the call and that the FCC had to do that becose too many Numbers Needed. does any one else know about this Bill

Sounds like bull-spit to me Bill. I have to do that when my cell goes into "roaming" because I'm to far away from a cell tower. It might be that you're to far out in the boonies. I'd dig a little deeper with the provider.

I don't have that problem here with my phone. I do however dial 1 plus area code whenever dialing a number on my cell phone. I don't know if I have to do that I just made it a habit. Besides, I use my cell phone mostly for long distance calling.

Well I got in tuch with my land line telephone co. today and they did varfiy that I would be charged for 1+ calling The cell phone co manger finaly told me I would receive new SIM cards and needed to change them out befor they would work right?? Bill

We haven't had a land line since '06, but back then, we had to dial the area code+number to call anyone that was outside our own exchange; whether land line or cell. By the time we moved, it was area code+number for all calls.
With our cell phone, we have to use the area code for all calls also. None of those calls are counted as long distance unless they are international calls.
