My name is Don, gone by the user name of ArkansasDon for several years. I own a business in the Hunting Industry, and I like anything that is in the outdoors. I written 2 cooks books on wild game cooking called "Backwoods Wild Game Recipes & Backwoods Wild Game Recipes United". I started writting a cook book do to wild game had such a bad wrap, y'all know "oooo!taste to gamie", or "it's tough a shoe leather" or "no way I want to eat that!, deer meat eeeww!". I started off taking old classic's and putting a new twist to them. 3 1/2 years for the completion of the 1st book. After they went up for sale I sold all of them with in 7 months and the replys were unreal.............."Thank you for writting a cook bookthat I could use and so on. So the second book went into work and 3 1/2 years later Backwoods Wild Game Recipes United came to play and that book took off, a bit more fancier recipes and more modern type dishes. My wife and I pretty much live on wild game all year round, yes we harvest enough to hold us out threw the year, Arkansas Whitetails, Texas Wild Hogs, & Rams, Texas Pheasant & Quail, and alot of fish. I hope to share and experience with some of ya's recipes and some good ol' chew'n & swallow'n .
Don

Welcome, I normally don't do the meet and greet thing, don't wanna scare nobody away ...but, having read about your cookbook and other accomplishments, figured that ya'll could stand my presense...I'm currently working on a cookbook of old family recipes...converting most of them into outdoor methods and some using wild game (many actually started out with some form of game as the main ingrediant)...as you can see by reading through the post, we a a group of eating and cooking nuts...so keep posting them recipes..swapping tips and regale us with your knowledge...and once again welcome...
