I got me a crossbow and also picked up some 100gr Spitfires Question; will they work OK or did I lose $40.00 Had a problem with some bolts going wide, talked with Excalibur and they put me straight. (was not setting the rope cocking device the same each and every time) Makes seances a regular bow you knoch up at the same point every time. So far I'm having a ball with it

Bill, Sorry for missing this post!!! Spitfires are awesome choices on x-bows! You poke a deer with one once and you'll be sold on 'em for sure! Have a ball with the new toy! ;D ;D Oh...and whatever you do, keep your thumb down on your rest hand! My first crossbow experience, I rested the forestock on my left palm and had my thumb sticking up, kinda the way I'd always held my rifles. When that string released, however, it caught my left thumb behind the first knuckle and tried to rip it clean off my hand. A lesson well learned!

Daylight Saturday my season starts. I got a couple of places picked out, I just gotta wait and see what the wind is doing before I make up my mind which one I sit in Saturday.
How much longer before you get to try that new bow out on a critter?

12" inside? I'd never kill a buck in Florida! You got either sex though with a bow don't ya? Can get some good tender vittles that way! Hear the nuts rattling? I'd just have to ground check 'em!

A nice 7 point came from behind me, and down wind, stoped 10 feet on my left side front quater. and broad side Had him in sights, perfit, the bolt went true. BUT at that very moment "HE JUMPED " and the bolt went at leaast 8 feet under his kill zone Never thought a deer could jump that high One of the best hunting experences.

;D Seen that happen a time or two! ;D I missed one this season with my compound that nearly turned himself inside out before the arrow got there. He was at dorty or so yards and by the time the arrow got there, it was nothing but clean air to sail through! When they're spooked, they can flat get out of the way. Ah well, maybe you can find a hog to use it on sometime between now and October!
