I took the liberty of "constructing" a house for eaglenest. I figure it's about time she settled in. I'm not much for furniture and decorations so it's up to her but I did put a swing on the porch where she can sit and think. The Welcome Wagon dropped off a fruit basket but I think the 'coon, deer or maybe Paws got it first.

No coons, but possums!! They come on the deck and eat dog food and I go out with a broom and can they make a racket!! To shoot them would make such a mess on the deck. If the Beagles were there...no possums!! But, they are out hunting and guarding apparently a deer as I have not had to give them any food for several days. But, I have seen them coming from the barn from their bedding area.

Sharon, you wouldn't happen to know anybody with a truck with stock racks or a trailer? Need my Christmas present and maybe a round bale of hay hauled from Beallsville, OH to here - about 160 miles. <moo>

No, I don't. Your brother doesn't have anything like that, since he has cattle?
Dad used to have racks on his 4-wheel drive Pick-up...that has been gone for years...what about a rental place there used to be one down near where the Pizza Hut is in Gallipolis (the new one) and it was on the other side of the road..mybe owned by the Evans'??
The guy that leases the farm uses someone else's when he has to takes cattle to the stock sale.

Nope brother doesn't have anything or I'd borrow it. Dad had a '62 International stake bed with cattle racks we used until '81. Then built racks for the '76 F350. Al still has the racks, but no truck they will fit. FIL has a truck & trailer and is only 10 miles from Al. But he has no tags on either one right now. Gal he works for has a wagon drive starting this weekend. So their's is tied up with that. Neighbor down this way has a trailer but no rubber on it. Al's including a rope halter. So, I may end up halter breaking the gal as I lead her down here. We thought about 3-legging her and shoving her in the van. But a 600# summer yearling in the back of a mini-van? Right. Guess I'll get this all figured out.

I can get a truck or a trailer easy! Call the police and report the cow stolen and that you know where it is and are afraid to go get it. Gotta play the cops sometimes. Remember about 6-7 years ago, A Union leader in prison said he knew where Hoffa was buried. They go to this guys farm and tear down his barn, dig everything up then haul the trash off without finding a body? All I could think of was this prisoner calling the barn owner up after the police are done; prisoner- did they tear down that old barn for you? owner- they sure did and hauled it away and paid me $30,000. for doing it. prisoner- so my debt to you is paid? owner- sure is and they even cleared and tilled up enough that I can put in a huge garden!

Sure would work. But this particular heifer is both freeze branded and tattooed and brother is holding the papers that show both marks and clearly identifies him as breeder and current owner.

Have your brother put a stamp on her and tie it to the mailbox.
