Feller's, I done caught me the worts case of pneumonia I think I've ever done caught! I feel plumb miserable and don't really feel like eating.
I have been working over some cans of Chicken N Noodle soup and last night I was able to swallow down, between gagging coughs, a couple of shrimp sammiches.
This morning though I was told to avoid seafood when ya got a cold. Well, I'm damn tired of canned soup and don't feel like eating anyway, but still I thought I'd ask... What should I be eating and why can't ya eat seafood when you're sick?

I always push the greens for the croup n cruds - specially collards or kale. But you want to make sure you keep the fluid intake up when eating them as I'm sure you're aware, they will flush your system royally!! If you can't hold the greens down, at least get on some electrolytes. I use the stuff we mix up for the calves in some hot tea. But stay away from all mint teas as they aggravate pneumonia. As far as the seafood goes...I wouldn't know unless it is foods for the bad bacteria in the gut that might come with being sick. Get yourself all better. We need you around here.

Toby, Not sure about the seafood ??, but load up with vitamin C, that is about any citrus fruit. Orange,grapefruit....you know all that stuff Fla sends North at exorbitant prices. You can go without food, but do not dehydrate. No alcohol period during a bout with a cold. Oh, and one other thing, NO SEX, Get well soon friend!

My appettite's back! ;D I'm feeling a little better, but still eat up with this cough. I've been loading up on Vitamin C, Iron, B complex, and antibiotics. I've got zero energy, but I'm thinking I've turned the corner and on the mend. No problem John, about the alcohol. I haven't had but three or four alcoholic drinks this entire year so far and sex... Well, even if I had the opportunity; I ain't got the energy. I'd just have to give her a pat on the ass and send her on her way... Yep; that's how bad I feel....

Ol' Doc Faith should have gone ahead and got my sheepskin like I really wanted instead of skrewing around with advertising and economics courses. Going to a country vet is a far cry better than what I see coming from Obama Care.

Actually, the country vet was out to the house just today to visit with one of my t-breds, an older mare that's losing weight.
I asked her (damn good looking gal!!!) about why folks oughtn't to eat seafood whent hey're sick and she says it because of the mercury contamination in Gulf Of Mexico seafood and iodine found in most shellfish.
Supposed to avoid them both.
Was feeling much better...slipped a little.... This crud is just awful!
Thanks for the prayers Paws!

Toby,
Get yourself some Robitusin DM MAX...works on my cronic bouts with pnuemina...ya got to break up the congestion in order to get better...and I found the Max works best...but it's kinda like sippping coaglated southern comfort...either that or ask Granny to fix you up an elixer of onion, honey and lemon...I'm sure she knows how...that stuff wont only stop a coughin' but the whole danged funeral...
