Well...we just got everything finalized for our trip to Wyoming this fall to try our hand at shooting a few pronghorns. We put our apps in for the license draw, but the area we put in for has had a 100% draw the last 5 years, so we're pretty confident we'll get the tags. Everyone we've talked to said they're really fun to hunt, and not particularly challenging. I've always wanted to hunt out west, so this is a good opportunity to get r done.

Fantastic! Those antelope are sooooo pretty out on the prarie!
I haven't been out west since 2000, but I loved it! I used to hunt the Laramie range south of Medicine Bow, WY. You could almost always get within a couple hundred yards of big 'lopes. Bowhunting is a whole other story; the easiest way is to find a rancher and ask to ride in the back of his truck hwile he checks his cows. They get so used to seeing the truck, they'll step forty or fifty yards out of the way and go right back to feeding, lol.
I've heard both good and bad about antelope meat. The little I ate was backstrap cut into medallions and it was a little gamey, but enjoyable fried up chicken style.
Best of luck!

You bet I'll have my camera along Snake Eyes. I've been through Wyoming and other western states before and it sure is beautiful country. It will be interesting to see it form a hunters perspective and off the beaten path.
Unfortunately Paws, I gotta come back......I think........maybe.........
I've had good antelope and bad antelope and some in between. I think the care of the meat from the very beginning is essential in good tasting meat. I think we'll be prepared.
