Guys, I like my coffee but some mornings there isn't time to drink a couple cups, plus if you are sitting a blind with a quart of coffee in you pretty soon you spend more time peeing than watching, and invariably you have to pee at the wrong time. A quick cup of thick brew is more than sufficient to start the day. I picked up these things this season, makes for really strong coffee fast - 3 sips and you may crap your pants. The 10 oz job from GSI Oudoors makes 1 cup ready to drink between 4 & 5 minutes after you turn the heat on. I use 1 heaping spoon of fresh grind or 2 good, not heaping, spoons of ready grind espresso for 1 cup, there is room to make it thicker if you want, I will if I have to share. A pinch of salt cuts down on the acidity if I remember to add it. The other one makes a good cup and a half or so in about 7 to 8 minutes. I use 2 normal scoops of fresh grind or 2 heaping of ready grind. Same salt deal..... If you have to share with a couple people then load up the grounds for normal espresso, I figure it may give 3 people a morning blast. I have a GAZ burner I use but any propane burner will work, house or field your choice. www.gsioutdoors.com/products/...mini_expresso/www.bialettishop.com/MokaExpressMain.htm - I use the 9 cup version of this, runs $40. Shop the net and you can pick it up in several different places.

I think the part I like is kicking back in the early mornin', hearing the fire crackle, bacon sizzle and catching the occasional waft of coffee brewing. Slim, I ain't buyin' it!

You just an old Camp dog, Phil. You tend that cooking fire and me and Slim will get the meat!
I drink Cuban coffee, it's better tasting and has a better kick than most espresso I've bought.
Day to day, I drink Folger's Classic Roast...about a pot (10 cup) a day. But during turkey season and deer season, I switch to Cuban coffee in the mornings because I get a great jolt out of it, but like Sim said, I'm not peeing as much (I also withhold the water pills).
Cafe Primera in Ybor City (East Tampa) sells it in 1/4lb vaccum packed bricks for a buck a piece, but you can find good Cuban coffee online with a quick search. You might try that in your little coffee maker Slim, it's really good and tastes better than espresso.

Worth every red cent! I learned to LOVE Cuban coffee from an ex-patriated Cuban Senora whom I was madly in love with. She never let me get to first mase..hell, she never even let me get off the bench. But, we'd have coffee together every morning before our shifts started at the hospital. She was the director of medical records while I was starting in the admissions department...man oh man, two cups of that and I was ready to walk on the ceiling, lol. Good stuff!

I am not a real big coffee drinker, maybe a cup or two a day.I always use fresh ground. Maybe 10/12 years ago I was out squirrel hunting and came upon an elderly man also hunting. We exchanged hellos, and I noticed he was doing either snuff or chewing tobacco......NOT! It was whole coffee beans. He handed me 4/5 and the rest is as they say history.I don't go into the woods with out a handful of coffee beans in my jacket. My method is to put 4/5 in my mouth. At some time just bust open one bean. When it quits tasting like coffee, spit it out and bust open another bean, etc, etc, etc. I know this would not be for everyone....but for you that drink coffee,I say try it.
