Is Florida the dumbest gawdamned state in entire union??? The Florida legislature is going to vote on whether or not to allow CHOCOLATE MILK to remain as an option for lunch in public schools. Health experts have stated that the nations obesity crisis can be traced to children making poor choices on milk in the lunch line, ie. chocolate over 2% or whole milk. Chocolate milk had added sugars they do not feel is in the best interest of the children therefore it's being proposed that chocolate milk be removed from the lunchroom and juice boxes addd to the menu option for the kids that don't like regular milk. Juice boxes...fruit juice contains a shItload more sugar than chocolate milk...where's the gawdamned common sense??? What are all the kids going to do for their vitamin D ift hey don't drink enriched milk? Little fockers don't go outside anymore into the sunlight... Damn, I hate Florida's politicians.... If it passes, Florida will be te first in the country to remove chocolate milk from it's schools. Is that dumb or what???

Toby,Paws, As a young'en I was a very heavy milk drinker, still am today.I have cut back to 2% but still drink 2 1/2 gal to 3 gal a week. I honestly think it has kept my stomach from lots of problems I should have, between smoking, drinking and food I can't eat anymore. Some folks drink milk because they think it is good for them. I honestly drink it because I like it,and think it is good for me......Who knows?

I'm the same way Snake. I'll do 3 gallons a week by myself and keep powdered in the pantry on back up. Monday I bought a quart of buttermilk for pancakes and biscuits; haven't baked a one but the milk jug is in the trash can. I like it a lot.

Toby, Florida is one of about 15 state trying do away with chocolate milk in schools. I hang my head low and ask for forgiveness. Who'd have ever thunk that a dairy farmer's daughter is down to a quart a week? Guess I'm going to have to break that bad habit real soon or start a 'cow share' as I'm looking at very possibly 6 gallons or more a day coming into the house from the pretty little "lawn mower" that's looking in my back door right now. I know as kids each of us probably consumed two gallons or more of 5.5% raw milk every day - not including what was turned into yogurt, ice cream, or butter. Maybe I'm not drinking milk for the same reason I claimed I didn't like peaches or green beans anymore.....they didn't taste the same 'cause they weren't fresh like I was used to. Have found myself using a lot of powdered and evaporated milk for cooking and on my morning oats. The biscuts rated better with powdered cultured buttermilk blend.

We go through three or four gallons a week around here, but for the last month or better we cut out soda completely when we're on the road and buy a quart of milk instead.
Know what? I feel better. It may just be my imagination, but I seriously feel like I have more energy and am less bloated from the carbonation. My sugar's down to a manageable level as well last time I checked it was 110 and the next morning it was 116, down from my usual 140-150's in the mornings.
