Looks like the broken points are still over an inch in length and can be counted as points ET.Still a nice buck either way!
Meghan missed a buck on opening day in Indiana that she said was bigger then my Michigan buck. It was taken(presumed) by another hunter as we heard 7 shots in the direction it ran.
After a trip to the range I discovered her gun case was too small for the scope and was knocking it out of zero each time it was put in the case. I bought new cases at Bass and Bucks in Wabash.
She then shot the 6 point and button buck perfectly as well as the bb in Michigan.
We scouted the new area and saw a huge flock of turkies. I guess around 80 or more birds. Waiting for the fall season to open now!

;D ;D ;D for Meghan, ET, and Mars. ET those antlers are massive and very well rubbed. That boy been eatin' tall. Wherever you got him check the food plots around and take notes. Toby, look at his coat. He ain't even got hard hair yet and it is mid-November! What the heck is goin' on? Same thing here. Anybody seen any sign of a rut startin'?

Rut starting? You need to get out Paws! The rut is winding down. When we were at the gun range in Indiana two bucks were chasing a doe right through the middle of the range as shots rang out around them.

My guess would be that the rut is responsible for ET's busted tine buck; that boy had done some fighting!
Sat out this morning in the same spot as yesterday and only saw one doe that was on the wrong side of the fence. I'm a try it again tomorrow.

Guess what the first thing I saw this morning was? Six pointer take it across the road in one leap from over the neighbor's electric fence and up the knoll on my side of the road. Nice dark ash colored hard hair on! Today is day one of gun season. All I had at hand was a 380 and he ws about 70 yards away. Time to strap the 357!

p.s. Hey you guys know what I heard? Somebody told me that Ohio brought in coyotes to control the deer population. That sounds like some politicians idea.

Nope sounds about the same as I heard. Was going to go hunting this morning. Windy - with 40 mph gusts predicted this evening and tonight, raining and a cold front is about to move in. Just plain miserable to sit in the woods. I'd spend more on cold medicine than shells. ~~Deer 1, Huntress 0.

I did go out, was in the woods for less than 10 min before the wind started to kick up..increased to about 25mph and then started to swirl around and gust up to probably 35-40...been out a few time before today and had seen very li'l sign..today I covered less than 20 Acres and saw at least 25 rubs..some so fresh the sap was still running...with this front and the rain coming in tonight and tomorrow it'll be Thurs before I get back out...

The Lord has blessed us again! I was blessed enough this morning to be able to harvest a small 7 point buck (9 inch inside spread) and a doe in different areas of the county. No pics since they are both already quartered up and on ice.
This makes 3 for us this year so far. Lucas-1 Freddie-2 Anthony-0.
