Prayer warriors: My Aunt Margie is suffering from pain resulting from lung cancer. Not much hope for survival. I know we can't keep her forever. Please ask the Lord to spare her from the pain and let her days be happy and surrounded by family and friends. She is the last of seven and will close my Mother's generation.

Lord, grant this family the righteous desires of their hearts. Spare this lady suffering and give each one peace.

So sorry to hear that she is suffering. As it was after Mother had that massive stroke 5 years ago, there are times when the Angel of Death is also the Angel of Mercy. Though some may criticize me for it, the night before she passed, I went into the chapel at the nursing home and prayed that if it was not his will to heal her, that he would take her home and end her suffering. 4:00 am the next morning, the nurses found she had passed in her sleep with a peaceful look on her face. After 5 years I still miss her, and suppose I always will.
God's will and mercy with your aunt...

Aunt Margie passed this morning at about 11:45 ESDST to be with the Lord and virtually her entire generation. She was in pain but not complaining. Yesterday my Pastor, Philip Foster and I were able to visit and pray with her along with her Grandson Gary. While praying her body went from uncontrolable trembeling to peaceful stillness. Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and condolences. Rest assurred that I know without a doubt where she is. Her generation of siblings and parents as well as their siblings are assuredly all together with the Lord. What a wonderful day! I must admit that I am somewhat envious because I have been to her Mother's (my Grandma's) house on Thanksgiving and Christmas and I know what it is like to have the entire family there!

May she rest in Peace in a place that is much better than here on earth. She will be missed but her suffering is over.
Phil, how old was she?

It was only plain not fancy this kitchen center piece of wood. The scratch marks and worn paint testified to decades and generations of Grandma's loving use.
It was long to seat the family of some thirty five. Of those so well remembered only few today survive.
I remember the smell of fresh baked bread, new butter, hot coffee, and ice cold milk. The smell of fresh hot apple pie and roast turkey would fill the air.
I can see my cousin Chuckie running grinning hiding a drum stick there in hand. Cousin Jim and brother Sam my best buddies played and ran. David, John and Timmy sometimes the girls Linda, Debbie, and Pam would come. Playing tag, getting dirty then scrubbing up to eat was half the fun.
Of all the memories of my childhood these are the ones that bring me tears. But I wouldn't trade a single one I've treasured them all these years.
Lord knows I miss my family their laughter and their smiles. I still see them round that table my buddies tucked between those narrow kitchen aisles.
Just planks of train yard poplar nailed together over X crossed legs. Narrow benches along each side rail backed chairs for Grandma and Grandpa on the ends, marked the points of the family circle where the family gathered in.
It was plain old wood not fancy it was wide and it was long. To hold so much love and laughter Grandpa built it twice as strong.
Now a new place there in Heaven near a mansion it now stands. In a house built by Jesus the son of a carpenter, the Son of Man. They'll all be there to greet us as we enter the front door. We'll join them all for supper like a hundred times before. But this time one thing is different, as Grandpa Lew says Grace, instead of bowed heads and folded hands he'll thank Him face to face.
--for my Aunt Margie--

I was sorry to hear of your Aunt's passing. I have been kind of in a fog here and have not checked to see how she was fairing. However, I am pleased that Jesus welcomed her home. In his hands, all are healed and happy.
She is watching down on you now as Bruce is watching down on us. They are fine, no health problems or pain. We, however, are the selfish ones. Instead of being happy for them going home, we are sad because even in their pain and distress, we still want them with us.
Your memories sound priceless. Keep them in your heart and know that the love she felt for you will always be there.
