I like that we have a small, but dedicated group here, but it seems to be gettig a bit too small. Ya'll wanna help me in inviting some new folks in here to share with us? Spread the word and put out some invitations on the other forums you may visit. It'll be nice to have some newbies to rag on for awhile!

Anyone know why Shiloh decided to delete his account? Did he say anything to anyone? You guys please let me know if you decide to drop your affiliation and I'd appreciate a reason. If it something technical that is troubling you I can fix that. If it is something I or someone else here has said or done, live with it and get over your sensitive self.

I think one of the problems that's occurred and I myself have had a hand in it is that we've gotten away from the original premise of The Ohio Camp Cooks theme.... We've been in reverse concentrating only on things like current events, jokes and religion.......Now don't get me wrong , everything has a place , but we should get back to cooking in earnest and see what happens......

I agree wholeheartedly Koot... That's why I'd like to see some new blood in here. Otherwise we're just rehashing the same topics and techniques etcetera that we've gone over a hundred times. Some new folks in here will make the old new again.
Personally, I'd like to get some folks in here we can talk over campfire cooking. Maybe teach a few newbies the basics, ya know? I been going over a lot of the old stuff, just browsing and man, we really got some good stuff in here. I've learned a lot over the years...be a shame if we didn't share it around.

Also, other than you on the smoker and Ralph with his scouts, nobody else is really doing a lot of outdoor cooking. As for me, the kids are grown and headed off in different directions...I got nobody to take out and cook for now...

The only outdoor cooking we do here is a bit of BBQ and shrimp, crab or crawfish boils. Most is done by my son-in-law. I seldom use my grill anymore.

Phil,
You might go on the AFTWS website and post an invitation in the forums. They have one entitled Air Force Chefs. Worth a try.

Jerry, maybe you could get a handle on some of your son in laws recipes.....I know I do a lot of grilling and smoking stuff, but crab and crawfish boils would be interesting to me.....I never done that stuff since in my region, we have terrible stores and normally we can't get that stuff....I know awhile back , I did a lot of low carb stuff also....I'll try to pick up on that too......I think that's what we have to concentrate on now to get everyone's interest back......

I have told several people about the site. I told them it is not all about cooking, but there is a whale of a group of people there that care about one another and the problems that they may be having.
Bruce was an excellent example. Without all your prayers, cards, and well wishes, I don't believe he would have lasted as long as he did. You folks still have my gratitude and heart felt thanks. You are a wonderful group of people and I did not believe that you could meet anyone worth meeting and possibly sharing with either in a bar or online. You folks made a believer out of me.
