Getting the Boulder Hill Fuit Orchard rolling. ;D Thanks to the past weeks rain, the 10 peach trees are doing great. The mulberry has taken on a bush form and is growing like crazy, too. Bought three different varieties of Japanese Plums from the Walmart produce section today and will stick them in the flower bed where the peaches got their start. (Would love to find someone with a Stanley plum). Next fall, I'm starting pears and cherries in the same manner. Figure I can get an orchard of 40-50 trees producing before I turn 50. A roadside fruit stand could turn a nice little retirement income. Also plan to have table grapes and maybe a couple paw-paw trees. Did selective tree cutting this summer so to keep the best hickory nuts and black walnuts too.

Woohoo! Sounds like a real nice variety! I need to get off my arse and get busy planting more nut trees. I've wanted to put in some pecan trees and walnut trees for a longtime and never got around to it...if I hadn't a been so damn lazy, I could be gathering my own nuts this fall instead a stealing them from down the road, lol.
