Peg tells me that Billie Jean has developed epilepsy since her Dad died. She is also suffering from what is believed to be a brain and Eustachian tube infection and is on several antibiotics. She has lost her driver's license pending a six month episode free period. Peg is working sixty hours a week and managing to keep up but barely. Their cousin Robert Collins (SGM, CSA) just lost his Mother and her funeral is today. All of them are very close. You guys know what to do.

Prayers on the way! I spoke briefly with Peg and earlier her daughter and it seems they've need to sell a few items. Folks, you are all familiar with Bruce's cannons...please put the word out that they are for sale along with various other reenacting gear. They're good folks and I sure hate to see them going through this.

She needs to put that on FB and Ebay and hurry up while the 150th Ann is still in progress.

Thanks for bringing this thread to the top so it caught my attention. Epilepsy is so draining on not just the patient, but also their family and loved ones. Even when you think they've gone seizure free for a year or more, the seizures can come back - sometimes in a new form. It seems the learning process never ends. From my experience with Lana and several friends, there doesn't seem to be any truly reliable medications. Many times you'll find one that does work, but the side effects are worse than the episodes, or that it works for a while then blood levels for the drug start to roller-coaster. Some are down right dangerous for use in women of child bearing age, too. In some instances of epilepsy in young children, a ketogenic diet does seem to have some benefits. However, finding a neurologist or dietitian that will approve it are rare. In fact, many of them put parents under their microscope for possible neglect if they do try it. But, I'm sure with Peg's background she already knows all of this. My fervent prayers are with them all. It makes me so mad that so many good folks are sick and struggling. Sure wish there was more I could do and be there in person for each and every one. But, God's not seeing it that way.

Peg I have got 70 re-enactors/groups notified with five showing interest. I'll need a list, prices and pictures or very detailed descriptions and accurate assessment of condition sizes etc. I am interested in the wall tent and dining fly for myself.
