;D Dad surprised the heck out of me!!! ;D He has been worried about me going to stay in the Montana outback for a while now. He's scared I'm not packing enough heat with my Colt Python .357 in case I encounter a grizzly. So, today he comes in with a big ol' box and a grin and says, "Here, I don't want no damn bear to get ya!" In the box was a Smith and Wesson .44mag with a ten inch barrel!!! Freakin' SWEET!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Have I got the best dad or what???

Firing 240grain JHP's by Remington; it holds a three inch group at twenty-five yards, two inches above the bullseye. Not bad with iron sights and a sandbag rest!

Today I learned how to take down the 1911/Llama 380. Good stuff there on U Tube. Now where the hell are Frank and Mars? Got feelers out but nobody has heard from them in over two months now.

Just ordered 250 rounds of 240grain semi wad cutters from The Sportsman's Guide, Shooter's Catalog. Can't wait to tear a bunch of holes in some paper! I lub dat new gun! I want to get really intimate with it and look forward to hunting with it this year in Montana. This model 29 was their Silhouette gun; which is why the 10.5" barrel... It's got very detail adjustable sights for extended range shooting. Using a pair of shooting stix, I figure I ought to be able to sneak up to within decent range of an antelope or two with it!

Dad gave $550 for that model 29 of mine. I just had it appraised and it came out at $1,150!!!
But with the shitstorm that's brewing, I dunno if I want to rely on iy as it's kind of unwieldly and slow to reload or go back to a 1911 style .45acp with Black Talons...
Gonna keep this cannon for a hunting weapon, but my personal defense gun needs to be more manageable and easier to load, Gonna take a long look at Springfield Armory and Taurus models.
