;D I sold out the livestock business and all of my critters except a donkey, a small holstein heiffer, a couple horses, and a big red brahman bull who was just to purdy to see go to hamburger.
That big red bull, Rojo, is heading back to the rodeos. I bought him for Chicken to campaign on the youth rodeo circuit when he was a young bull. Well, he's three now and I figured to let him earn his keep... So, I have him entered at the Windy Acres arena on the 26th of April.
I wish ya'll was here to come out and watch him put some young cowboy on his ass, lol. He was a real jumper and spinner as a five hundred pound yearling...I'm interested to see what he'll do as a fourteen hundred pound three year old. ;D

;D YEEEHAW!!!! Glad you kept Rojo around. He sho'nuf is one good lookin' fella. I think you got yourself a great little plan there. Contest him and let him build a name for himself. Then, stud him and rake in the dough. Whatever you do, don't let some stud service talk you into selling or leasing him to them for semen collection rights. Ain't no money in that scam. YOU keep him and have him collected. Then sell them straws a couple at a time every few years.

It is so sad that so many kids today have no clue about animals and how close you can become to them. I really miss cattle. I do have some in my pasture and when the guy moves them for the pasture to grow...I miss them so much.
Greta had many market steers for 4-H over the years. I also miss the baby Holsteins as I was growing up. Everytime we would visit..I would take Greta over to see the babies as they were taken off their Momma's and we fed from the bottles/buckets. That was what I missed most when Dad sold the dairy cattle and went to beef cattle.
It is so sad driving along in the country where all that stands are silos..no barns.
Glad that you are keeping Rojo!!
