Dear Santa,
My skin has gotten a little tougher, and my hair a whole lot grayer since last year. Thank you. I know I've earned and deserve it.
Not too much I really need this year. (Or at least I've RE-learned to make do with what I've been blessed with.) Just make sure my grown young'uns are all safe and warm, and push or drag them back on the right path.
Of course, I still have the wants (but most of the wants are things just to make getting by on the needs a little more comfortable). A bottle of Black Velvet and a 2-liter of Coke would go a long way towards that. There's a stack of hay and a barrel of sweet feed in the shed. Take some for the reindeer. Then tuck the Velvet down in the haystack. Make sure to check the hen house for eggs, too. There should be a half dozen. Give them to Mrs. Claus so she can make your breakfast when you get back home.
Merry Christmas!!

All I want for Christmas is a certain brunette taxidermist from Birmingham under my tree...

Hey Santa, Cancel my order. I took care of that while going for straw and feed today. You can still help yourself to feed, eggs, and the white hen with the short pink comb, though.

Picked up some nice loot! A few things I needed, a few things I can find a use for if I try, and a few things that...well, I dunno what they were thinking.
But best of all; I was with My Momma and Daddy, my sister Michelle and her husband Alex, and my brother Dusty. Alex's Mom n Dad stopped by for dinner and the 8 of us had a very pleasant visit and I think everyone left with a good memory.

I told all my friends that IF and ONLY IF they had an inkling to get me anything that all I wanted was white elephants. Guess nobody has any elephants because all I got was a waffle iron and a stack of 20 yr old Guidepost magazines. Dad sent me a subscription to Readers Digest. The first four issues are still in their plastic sleeves and sitting here next to the Guideposts. Mike said he's got me a big wall calendar from the fuel dock, but I'll have to wait another week before I can scribble anything on it. Did get to spend an hour or so playing with William and his big smile and hearty giggles sure made my day!!
