Our state's House and Senate started a Wildlife Caucus which mirrors the Sportsmen's Foundation started by our big-wigs in Congress. We had our first meeting this past week. Yes, I joined in. I don't know what all we may accomplish but I have to try; and have hope. Anyway, there were two Senators at the meeting I knew at least a little. When the meeting was over I talked to the one remaining (the other one had another meeting to attend). I asked her about her "outdoors background. She said that she had never really done any hunting but she does support it. She then preceded to tell me she was too old to start, at age 50. I said, "You're not that old, only about six years older than me". So I asked her if she would like to go turkey hunting with me and my WIFE ( stress the word wife) this coming Spring. She said she would be glad to try it but that I would have to start her from scratch. I told her that would not be a problem. So, I am hoping she will get to hunt with us. I plan on taping the hunt as well. This has potential to grow our sport here. I'll let y'all know how it goes later this Spring.

Great idea Carter. Just keep her out of the ticks and chiggers.

Ticks and chiggers are not much of a problem where I am planning on taking her.

Well, that's good. Those critters could sure put a damper on a new "gal" turkey hunter.
