I have lots of pictures of deer and alot of pics of live ones! Saw five bucks yesterday afternoon on the way back from town and all had their racks on! We sat in our SUV and watched them slowly walk up towards a small field that I know a guy has a feeder on but we don't tell anyone as we like to see live ones too! No camera with us this time!! Blast!! Email if you would like to see some of my pics...Bill Gould

When having that prize bucks rack mounted, make sure the guy doing it knows the difference between a moose and a whitetail. This was Mike's buck from this seasons hunt. Huge bodied guy. This buck liked to watch me plant beans in the garden at close range (under 40 ft.). Kinda scarey knowing he was right behind me with that rack. In fact, that's how I came up with my board name. 14 pt if you count everything a ring will fit on. There's a couple kickers on the back sides and a sticker on each base that you can't see in the picture.

Mike & Faith Britton - That is a very nice rack buck, it looks like he could make the books. Have you had it scored?
Forgive me for smiling but the way it is mounted reminds me somehow of a Shriner or a member of the Moose Lodge. ;D

Forgive me for smiling but the way it is mounted reminds me somehow of a Shriner or a member of the Moose Lodge. ;D ;D That's exactly what I thought when it came home! It's real cooky looking. I call it "Fred Flintstone's Grand Poobah" hat. We didn't get him scored. The fellows at the check-in station all wanted us to get him scored. I kind of wished we had. But Mike has never been real big with the scoring thing. He feels he shouldn't want to make a contest out of good conservation practices. Besides his antlers were knocked very loose after a squarely placed head shot. We could wrap the antlers a full circle around his head. So, it was nearly impossible to get a true measurement on the span. It took 3 shots to drop this huge deer. One clean shot into the vitals and 2 to the head. They were all well planted shots. This buck, however, did not want to give up so easily. He even tried to charge at us after the second shot. I've been deer hunting since I was about 10 years old. I've never seen a deer react the way this one did. This was a fearless deer when it was alive. I'd throw rocks at it a couple of times when it got a little too close for comfort when I was in the garden. He wouldn't move. He'd just paw the ground, snort, and if anything take a step or two forward. I'd actually started carrying the shotgun with me when I was weeding. For protection from the deer! He wasn't going to die without displaying that same fearless attitude. Reminded me of a time we had to crate a 900 lb Yorkshire sow to get her into the truck. It was going to happen, but not without a huge fight on the sow's part!
