Tell that hunter safety class to go get their own! I like mine cleaned and processed as soon as I can get it done.
You're right about can't hardly wait!!!!
I feel like I'm getting ready for a date with a new girlfriend and expecting her to put out! Sure, I've had other girls and they were all good, but the only one on my mind is the next one and I'm revved up for it!

Ours starts Oct 1st too. Matt took the tractor and bush hog through the creek and up on the hill to mow some lanes and the logging trails. I got a feeder or 2 down in the oak bottoms, and we're thining of putting a couple out where he mowed. Usually don't need them though as the deer pretty much run at will there anyways. The place was logged 3 or 4 years ago and replanted. The cover is getting good enough for them feel real comfortable in there and the boys put the ol'man's ladder stand at the edge of the only stand of timber left.

well folks another TT snafu...Didn't even give it a try Friday AM..raining so hard couldn't see the car from the front door...Sat AM up and around in the woods by 6 AM saw one when I pulled up to open the gate..she just stood there while I did...was tempted to shoot her just cause she was taunting me...but didn't in the woods ambled about for about 2 hours and then sat down to have a rest for a few...glassed the area (were I sat over looks a wide area and is up higher than most ) spotted a nice doe crossing the creek bottom, headed for the cut...I gave her a min or two to clear the creek and get into the wood line then packed it up and head in that direction...came around the lower bend in another creek and she was browsing not 75yds away...so slowly and silently I mad my way up to her about 20yds away and had just nocked an arrow when the DIL called me on my cell phone...(i would have normally ignored such distractions but she has been have some land lord problems and I promised her to help out...so that ended my hunting for the day...can go today...have to work on the house..but hope to hit it again in the morning....

Here in British Columbia the hunting season opened Sept. 01. with only seven days bow season, the rest is firearm season. Having said that, bowhunters can hunt during the firearm season too. There is plenty room here in this huge province for all types of weapon at once. So far I have not gone out and I doubt that I will go out this year. With my mother-in-law passing away so suddenly, coping with the grief and settling the estate it just would not be fair on my wife to leave her alone in this time.

Pack up the wifie for a week-end outing Othmar. Little hunting, little fishing, little cook 'em on the fire... What a brilliant idea! BUT my lovely wife is not into hunting, yet she does not mind me going hunting or fishing. In fact she supports me. Even so she can’t see for the life of her what so exiting about it. Now that is what I call love.

She does sound like a keeper, Othmar!
After what you two have been through lately, a long weekend in God's country might be a perfect prescription. Nothing heals like a long walk in the wilderness.
And if you get to sling an arrow while you're out, that's a bonus!

And if you get to sling an arrow while you're out, that's a bonus! Thanks, you got that right. My wife and I just decided that this weekend we will go to one of my fishing lakes near the house. It is a very beautiful place. I will do some fishing and my wife can photograph and sketch for possible future paintings. At lunch we meet for a picnic. That way both of us are able to do what we like most and still be together.

That's terrific Othmar. I just might try that myself next week-end. It will be the first time in a year or so we have been able to spend a day or two together when she is not working. ;D
