I done found me a hot spot for deer. Found 4 scrapes and about a dozen rubs all within a 50 yard area in a pine thicket! I bought a treestand and I'm heading out in a little bit to set it up and sit in it the rest of the day.

Took me over an hour to assemble that treestand! All that trouble just to sit for 4 hours and watch squirrels and one annoying woodpecker. The daughters going back with me in the morning but we are now, by the regs, buck only. Schools out so they can use the building for the election tomorrow.

I'd kick his as* if I could see it! I'll just start kicking. Sooner or later I'd have to hit something that BIG! ;D It was pouring rain this morning but we headed out to the woods and sat in the truck waiting to see if it would stop. No such luck. I opted to come back home because it wasn't worth disturbing the area and too much of a chance of a misfire if we did see a buck.

Always take one of the girls. They can hear the critters better too! Coon season starts this Friday and the jips are starting to get itchy for them. Going to pick up our fur permits today.

Yea,Yea. I'm taking my daughter bear hunting next week as well but not for her eyes and ears. Told her I'm covering her in bacon grease and carrying a pot of honey while blowing on a mouse squeak call. Told her to be sure and yell real loud when she finds "MY" bear! ;D ;D

I can guess what it is but every state I've been hunting in a hunting or trapping license is all that was needed, sans CITES tags.

Rained all day plus the knee hurting so I kept my backside inside except to run my mother to work. Supposed to be sunny and 71 degrees tomorrow. Should make for a good morning to afternoon hunt.

I do not know how I get so far behind! I still got to write November checks and need to cut the grass one more time before I'll be clear to do any hunting. Possibley cut grass tomorrow if it is dry and get in the woods this week-end. I walked around the field today and there are beds all over the place. Think I'm going to set a stand up in my neighbors orchard and down below the pond where we been taking deer the past four years.

I wouldn't touch that line ..... Well, you all know about backseat drivers. Mike was sitting in the living room and I was kneading bread in the kitchen. He got to telling me how to bake and I told him to kiss my big kitty kat. He said he wasn't allowed to because he didn't have his fur permit yet. ;D ;D

Found out this morning a good reason why I haven't seen any deer. Guy walks up and asks if I had seen his two coon hounds that he lost over the weekend. His dogs have been running around that area all week. I haven't seen them but it does explain why everything all of the sudden disappeared.
